I'm pretty sure it's just me, but I noticed that in certain Pokemon movies (and even games, if you think about it) that when a dysfunctional and/or tragic yaoi couple is thrown in as a catalyst to the plot, the story gets a whole new layer, and sometimes even immensely improves. For example:
1. The Lucario movie is not only about healing old wounds and helping ghosts rest in peace, it's the tale of a star-crossed couple who are reunited after a centuries-long misunderstanding.
2. The Shaymin movie is really about Mugen and Zero's relationship. Zero uses Giratina to cover his frustration of being rejected/"betrayed" by Mugen, the one person who made him feel like he belonged and had a place outside of the Reverse World. Mugen feels guilty and helps Ash and Co. to redeem himself for his mistakes. By the end of the film, Mugen and Zero forgive each other and finally consummate their relationship.
3. If I had been in charge of writing the Arceus movie, Damos would've betrayed Arceus on his own volition (rather than handwave it by having him brainwashed by Marcus), only to regret it and sink in sorrow... until Ash and Co. visit him in time to give him a wake-up call, which has him sacrifice himself for the God he truly loved. Alas, that's not what happens in the movie, with or without scandelous God-on-Human romance.
4. Pokemon X/Y would actually have a subplot of Professor Sycamore wrangling with a moral dilemma and switching between denial and horror when he realizes his boyfriend is a genocidal maniac.
The Jirachi movie is interesting in this regard, since not only is Diane/Butler a hetship, the dysfunctional and/or tragic romance is actually canon instead of speculation on my part.
Now we just need a dysfunctional and/or tragic yuri couple, and the circle is complete.
You know, it's telling that the healthiest relationship in the above examples is the knight and his clearly-a-Pokemon apprentice. Figures.
Five of my OTPs

2) Utena Tenjou/Anthy Himemiya (Revolutionary Girl Utena)
3) Jeff Andonuts/Tony (Earthbound)
4) Madoka Kaname/Homura Akemi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)
5) Lisia/May (Pokemon)
( About three ships are evil and horrible and ~*~problematic~*~ according to a few people on tumblr )
I tag Sara Jaye and Lexi. Mwoiiiiiiing~!
It's got a neat illustration to go with it too. Awesome. :D I have a feeling I've seen it on pixiv before and someone added text to it, but eh. Most of the comments are fanboys arguing over Mewtwo vs. Arceus rather than commenting on the actual pasta though, which is a pain in the neck. Oh well.
I've been so tired and stressed lately. It might be because I've been stuck awake at nights, but I hope it's not because three English courses isn't too much work for me. Nngh, I feel like I'm getting constantly behind. I even had a small nap on a bench today, and half my face along with my arms and the area beneath my neck turned red. I might've gotten sunburned. :(
It's brought up a point about the ending that I haven't thought of before:
The conflict of the film all came from Mewtwo's struggle to find a meaning for his existence. Now, the protagonists find themselves in a microcosmic version of the same position Mewtwo found himself in at the beginning of the film: They don't know how they got to the harbor, and, without any knowledge of Mewtwo, they have no apparent reason for being there. After Brock mentions that Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny and the harbor lady “look even prettier when they're wet”, Ash asks a question and Misty responds.
His intended question is, “What are we doing here [at the harbor]?” and Misty's response is, “Who knows? But we're here, so why don't we stay?” But, thanks to a triple meaning of the word “iru”, their exchange can also be translated as, “Why do we exist?” “Who knows? But we exist, so why not continue [living]?” Thus, as the movie ends, Ash and Misty unknowingly resolve Mewtwo's existential crisis through casual conversation and apparently stumble upon the meaning of life without realizing it.
This would have been very easy to retain in the English version, since “Why are we here?” has the same double meaning, but it looks like the 4Kids guys completely missed the double entendre. I wouldn't have caught it if it hadn't been pointed out in an Amazon.co.jp review, and even then I found it so surprising that the freaking meaning of life was hidden in a Pokémon movie that I had to repeatedly check to make sure I wasn't imagining it. Which I almost wish I was, because that would mean I'd get to put it in a story I wrote and take credit for it.
I feel so sorry for Takeshi Shudo. He wanted to make a work that would be enjoyable for people of all ages, only to have it completely shat on by 4KIDS and later producers of the anime. Look no further than the Genesect movie, and you can see why I'm too disgusted to watch the anime anymore. (Unless it's stuff I've already watched and enjoyed, of course. The Lucario movie is my bby. ;;)
( Pros and Cons and Spoilers! )
Considering Gates to Infinity came out a year after "The Dark Knight Rises," and cynical superheroes wondering if the world is even worth saving have become an "official" thing in our current pop culture, it sure brings to light the themes in the game, doesn't it? The whole game is about fighting against nihilism and apathy, and rooting for values that nowadays we take for granted or have even become "dismissive" of, like kindness, hope and trust. The game emphasizes that you're not an idiot for being compassionate, even if you've been kicked down and betrayed time and time again. You're not a wimp for believing in doing the right thing, and it takes strength to keep hoping even when fate is against you.
In other Pokemon news, I'm not surprised about the Hoenn remakes. I knew it would happen sooner or later, but it's nice to have it confirmed. :o Coincidentally, I started a game on a Ruby romhack called "Pokemon Snakewood." I haven't gotten past Petalburg Woods yet though, since I got occupied with Mystery Dungeon. Whoops.
My friend Aspen got a 2DS! Now I can send him goodies for both Animal Crossing and Pokemon! :3
So life happened. But I don't want to talk about life. I want to talk about fandom.
An AC friend of mine, Alex, found a Mother 1/2/3 town through the Dream Suite where Wendell gave you Magicant tiles. Just what I've been looking for! It's insanely difficult to find Mother 1-based patterns, but now they're finally mine. *-* For those curious, the Dream Code is: 2200-0468-3784. Pretty pleasant place, and you can talk to Lucas, Claus and Kumatora too. :)
I've taken TONS of AC Photos (including shippy ones that I'll give its own post later), but I've still got to organize them and junk. The Shachipanda episode of Creepy Crossing is almost ready, I just gotta comment on the last few photos, type up my theories, and edit. God, that delay took me way longer than I had to. I've been putting off visiting more creepy towns because I've already got so much queued. ;; I'll have to put off showing a town called "Harudin" for a while, since it's based off North Korea and I'll have to do my research for that. tl;dr: I'VE TAKEN PHOTOS OF TONS OF HORROR TOWNS THAT STILL HAVE TO BE ORGANIZED.
I'm shocked that no one has made a Bubble Bobble-themed town yet. Absolutely shocked.
Fandom Fic Exchanges are happening this summer! Here's a couple that have caught my eye:
mm_rares (Rare m/m ships)
nightonficmountain (Rare/Small/Inactive fandoms)
I haven't decided the fandoms and pairings for the first one yet. Anyway, off to bed.
About three things I was absolutely positive:
First, Lysandre was the leader of Team Flare.
Second, there was a part of him - and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be - that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
Inspired by this post.
Good news, kids! You can now dress up as everyone's favorite Suicune hunter, Eusine!
( This QR Code is not Suicune. )
I'm going to be disappointed if my villagers don't wear this. They never wear my dresses. :( They go bonkers over my Raggedy Andy and Marius shirts though...
Trying to recall the last time a guy ever described sex as "sharing their bodies" with someone... nope, I got nuthin'.
I made a wise decision to finish a scene in my novel before reading the latest 50 Shades chapter Gehayi and Ket were sporking, which cheered me up immensely. Even E.L. James can't piss me off for long when I've made progress on my own work. :3 I've been trudging through that scene for a while, but now it's finally finished. ♥
My goal is to finish the first chapter of my novel before the end of January. Which I'm looking forward to sharing with you guys. :3 From that point on though, you'll probably only get snippets here and there. I don't want to give too much away... I intend to publish this, after all. :o But I hope you'll like what I'm coming up with so far. I could use all the support I can get!
Speaking of sporking, I've been tallying counts for a Sonic badfic called "Manipulated Love." The MST won't be finished for a long time, but I think I can do a dissection of it first, ficbitches style. We'll see...
Also, I've been listening to the Frozen soundtrack a lot. Seriously, I think it's become one of my favorite Disney movies. ♥
Character Interests Generator
Random Outfit Creator
First Name Generator / Surname Generator
Teen Generator - Anime Edition
I've also used a few others like Name Smasher, Fuzzle-Wuzzle Names, Big Bad, Random Dragon Designer and Magical Pet Maker.
( I'm actually quite fond of some of the names I've rolled. )
This big bad is a psychotic male alien. He plans to become immortal with dark magic. He commands a small team of elite underlings and can only be defeated through the determination of the human spirit.
Giegue/Giygas/Gyiyg, is that you?
- I signed up for Yuletide at the last possible minute. <.<;;; I've also been playing Pokemon X like crazy. Hopefully I'll be finished on time so I'll be able to include it for my requests on time for PokeExchange. :3
My final team hasn't been decided yet, since I keep finding Pokemon in tall grass that I squeal over. Here's my friend code so we can play together. :3

RULES & SIGN-UP
Mom took a picture of her with Dad, so I hope I'll be able to upload it and share with everyone soon.
I don't know if I'll be joining Yuletide this year. Not a whole lot of fandoms interest me except Dynamite Headdy, Gender/Sexbent Disney by Ripushko, Madoka, and maybe Space Funeral and Candle Cove. And I don't feel like attempting Twisted Princesses again until Twisted Olivia exists. :P Wasn't there a lot of wank at Yuletide last year too? I dunno, but I heard stories. *shrug* I'm more interested in the Pokemon Exchange, which I'll link to next post, nom.
Back to improving my sleep patterns. I dunwanna study for my midterrrrm... *cries*
Rules / Challenge 068: Favorites / Suggestions
While we're on the subject of icons, let's have a poll.
Which fandoms are you interested in seeing me make icons of?
Shaymin, Togekiss, Mewtwopalooza! Bring all the shipping and Mystery Dungeon, and maybe some Pokemovies too.
Madoka Magica! Lots of lesbians, some witches (mostly Charlotte), and humor icons to lighten the mood.
Indie Horror Madness! Let's make magic with Ib, OFF, Eversion, and maybe more NES Godzilla Creepypasta and Lost Silver.
Motherbound! Color some more doujinshi instead of just making bases this time.
Ponies plz. Preferably with captions. More love for the two Gen1 TV Specials.
Obscure animation! Unico, Ringing Bell, Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut, the animated segments of Pink Floyd's The Wall, and maybe Sea Prince & Fire Child if you can handle the tears.
Super Mario RPG and the first two Paper Marios. Geno and Vivian all over the place!
Yume Nikki, 2kki, and .flow. I want my share of gore and mindfuckery.
Harvest Moon? Pretty please? You know you wanna icon the Wizard from Animal Parade!
I don't care, I just want lots of cute animals. Like hedgehogs. And beluga whales.
I still want the latest Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and maybe Luigi's Mansion 2. Now I'm agonizing because Animal Crossing: New Leaf is out and everybody's playing it but me. :( More Pokemon X/Y news too. And the latest Smash Bros.
( Snippity snip for spoilers. Plus hopes and dreams for Smash Bros. recruits! )
Call me when Geno's a playable fighter, then we'll talk. Oh, and don't cheat by making him a sticker or something lame like that. >(
You know how you can transfer Pokemon as far back as 3rd Gen (R/S/E/FR/LG)? This guy has an Omastar that's been with him since the beginning of time.
He recognizes that while this Omastar isn't the best Pokemon—or even the best Omastar—it doesn't matter. It's his Omastar.
It's so beautiful. ;;
