I had an interesting dream the other day! It's another "Lost Content/Expanded Edition of Earthbound Beginnings" dream, and dang it's a doozy. It included a weird forest and lab area, and the enemies that you encounter are... Pokemon! You're even given a diary that lets you keep track of all the "creatures" you run into. What's more interesting is a lot of the Pokemon are from generations that wouldn't exist until way later, with Gen 6 being the furthest. And this was before Pokemon Red/Green itself came out. You can encounter the following:

Skiddo
Gogoat
Chimecho
Eevee
Pikachu
Charmander
Charizard
Fennekin
Grimer
Muk
Spearow
Bronzor

Mewtwo is even a final boss of some sorts inside the lab, and you specifically have to interact with Mew and receive an item from it in order to live. Something important was supposed to happen after you logged in all the creatures and got the item and met with Mew and Mewtwo, something plot-related with Geigue and his origins I think? Then the dream turned into a really bizarre fusion of a prototype game of Sonic Adventure 2/Star Fox and it was cool.

I definitely wish I had dreams like these more often. :o

Catching up on Evangelion while playing Blue Kaizo is giving me weird dreams, and I'm not even at the darker episodes of Eva yet.

I had a dream AVGN was reviewing The Rescuers for the NES, except it doesn't really act like an NES game at all, let alone have much to do with The Rescuers. Basically, you play as Penny and run away aboard a ship. Each level you're in a storm and facing off against the sky, where the clouds form a variety of nightmare fuel monsters (which get creepier and stronger with each level) that threaten to drown you or throw you overboard. The entire soundtrack is Tori Amos music, with one song for each level. In fact, most of the review is gushing about how hardcore Tori is rather than the game itself. :P

I want a psychological horror game like that now. Where you're a runaway kid facing your demons at sea, I mean.

I miss The Rescuers. Particularly because I watched a video about how underrated Down Under is and I wholeheartedly agree. I'm sad we'll never have a third Rescuers movie... but at the same time, I'm glad both movies are relatively ignored by Disney and not subject to ~ * ~ The Disney Brand ~ * ~ and their other current garbage that sucks the soul and passion out of their movies. Heaven forbid they ever try to do a live-action remake (shudder). There's a reason animation exists as a medium; I never watched the Stuart Little movies because the live-action setting with a talking CGI mouse was too fucking weird for me. Modern Disney dunking on traditional animation aside, you just know they'd butcher Miss Bianca and Bernard's characters and turn the former into a Catty Girlboss TM. D: She's already feminist, leave her alone! (Oh wait, they are leaving her alone. Good. Let it stay that way)

Funny how dreams make me nostalgic for weird things. Hmm.

So I had a dream I was watching a Let's Play of Earthbound Beginnings, but rather than the player head down to Podunk then the graveyard to save Pippi, they went north to some mossy cave with no enemies. It was about not getting lost and taking the wrong stairwells that lead to dead ends, and eventually you come to an outside area where you pluck a leaf from an enormous lotus flower. You go back inside the cave, and eventually you get an enemy encounter with the boss, a floating dress that is said to be a cut enemy from the game. You actually have a long conversation with it, but unfortunately the player skips through all the dialogue boxes, uggggh. When you win, you get a set of masks, each one suited for a different member of the party. They humongously boost your stats (which is especially needed for Loid, who has low defenses for some reason) and one mask is even given to Teddy, who is displayed crawling on the grass on the other side of the world. There's a polygonal Playstation 1-esque cutscene of Teddy getting picked up by an enormous fat green dragon, who has voice-acted unsubtitled dialogue concerned about his quest for revenge and that he ought to strive for something better. Teddy is now on a solo adventure in the clouds, where it plays out like Super Mario Bros. 3 and each space is a platformer stage. Ninten and friends are on the other side of this map, implying that they'll eventually catch up with Teddy and form a four-party team. You can see marked cities and towns that are named after music and various remixes and injokes from Starmen.net. Cue me being excited to play this brand new section of the game.

Except I never do, 'cause I woke up. :(

But holy shit, imagine if it was real. Maybe they can do that for a remake. We could even have a town full of Mr. Saturns! :D

Gory dreams are the worst, because it feels like all those gruesome murders and explosions of blood and guts are happening in front of you like they would IRL as opposed to watching a movie. Then when you're the one being inflicted, you feel ALL of the pain. You feel yourself getting murdered and it's agonizing.

Couple this with reading about the yukkuri and fluffy pony sub-fandoms (Warning: it reads like you're reading a psychological profile of a misogynistic serial killer and rape apologist rather than a set of fandom rules) and Ket & Gehayi's latest 50 Shades post and I feel kind of dizzy.

In lighter news, "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" is a song I just realized totally fits Homura, especially after Rebellion.

I seem to be getting disturbing dreams lately. Two nights ago, I had a nightmare five boys (around 6-7) running from a cruel group of people, and they come across a boiling stream that melts their skin off like red paint. The boys end up splashing each other and the burns make them shrivel up and look like large fetuses. All that's left in the water are their bones. Only one boy doesn't fall in the water, and he's the eldest one who's also a backstabbing jerk. Then last night, I had a dream where I started up a game of Earthbound, except it started to play like a freeware game called Lisa, and it just ended up being Ness exploring nightmarish landscapes full of Pokeys with melted faces and abusive parents. And lots of blood and vomit, which scared the crap out of the person I was trying to introduce Earthbound to.

Speaking of Lisa. If you're triggered by sexual abuse, violence, vomit, implied scat and urine, implied incest (parent/child) implied suicide and lack of hygiene, for the love of god DO NOT PLAY LISA. This game actually made me feel queasy, and that's saying a lot.

My dreams can be really cruel sometimes. I dreamed I was reading this awesome Sonic comic and I was excited about getting the next one. There was also an ad for a SatAM movie done by professional animators (who worked for Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, etc.) called "The End", which is basically supposed to be the conclusion of the entire series. Dear lord, if only that was real. ;;

Also, this AMV is amazing. I know jack about Eva, but the editing... wow. *-*

After having a few uncomfortable dreams lately, I finally got an awesome one. It involves magical girls (and boys) with individual superpowers, gangsters, shootings and explosions at a football field, monster trucks, zombie generators at a beach, teachers slaughtering students for a production of the Scottish Play, a cursed NES cartridge, a boy in a wheelchair named Arnold Flush, a Dr. Andonuts-esque old man acting as a guide to the magical girls, and the final showdown against Dr. Wily in a supermarket. There were also hedgehogs setting a bear cub on fire and teachers breeding cats for slaughter, but that's more disturbing than awesome.

And I had dreams where I was writing Poo/Paula pr0n. Oh bby.

I've been getting a lot of "Rise of the Guardians" dreams lately, and go figure, all of them involve Jack Frost in some shape or form. One of them featured claymation, and another featured a RotG video game humongously different from the one IRL. You play as different guardians, and you go around town mastering the elements. Like light beats darkness, fire melts snow, etc. There was even a "glitter" element where you could polish rocks and such and make them sparkle. You could even play as Pitch. Speaking of him, did you know that he had a daughter in the books before he became the Boogeyman? In my dream, the daughter is still around and works for her daddy, and at the ripe age of 12! It makes me want to write a book that has a villain-daughter team where the villain doesn't give a shit about anyone else but his daughter. And yes, the daughter's as evil as he is, no Heel Face Turns.

Too bad RotG is Dreamworks, 'cause it would've been a perfect world to play in in "Kingdom Hearts." I even dreamed that one of my friends became a Jack Frost/Sora shipper. And damn, I can totally see it. And it'll be one of the most popular slash ships in the fandom too.

I also had a dream where a Sonadow fangirl ripped off a eyeball-burning awful "Naruto" fanfic called "For Your Eyes Only." (Google it, then weep for all of humanity) All she did was replace the names, but sometimes she'd accidentally leave in the original names, like Iruka and Kakashi. The weird thing is though, that one of the yaoi couples she replaced involved Griff from SatAM. The fanfic author then spewed in random author's notes how much she hated him, and I was writing a rebuttal to that for [livejournal.com profile] hated_character. Which is funny, 'cause sometimes I thought about doing a post about him IRL.

Poor Griff. I love you, you Power Stone-stealing bastard.

I bought Kirby's 20th Anniversary the other day, so I finally got a chance to play "Kirby's Dream Land 2", the one major Kirby game I hadn't played yet. And Dark Matter is hand's down the hardest final boss in a Kirby game, not counting the extra bosses in "Kirby Super Star Ultra." Just OUCH. I've spent hundreds of lives on this guy like quarters in a "Ghosts & Goblins" arcade machine. I want to beat him once and for all, but the Wii is working weird right now. Augh.

I miss my computer. I hope I get it back soon.

Sorry I haven't been updating much. I just can't really think of anything to update with, you know? Other than I'm starting to get horrible dreams again. My psychologist calls them "anxiety dreams." I think that's accurate. The first dream involved a screaming match between me and my boyfriend about Homestuck, with me acting like my whiny days in Sonic fandom (him being an ex-fan, me challenging him for why he thinks Andrew Hussie is a douchebag). I hope to get into contact with him today, just to be sure our relationship is stable. 'Cause we never, ever yell at each other. And I consider it a good thing.

The other dream was mainly about Mom. Lord knows that always ends well. )

Yeah, I'm sure you guys don't want to see entry after entry like this either. Nobody likes a person who is sad all the time.

"Ugh, what a day I had! I'm so mad at this idiot at work who--"
"ABLEIIIIIIST!!1!1"
"What?"
"You used the word 'mad', and that means crazy, so you're insulting the mentally ill. And you called a person an 'idiot', and that is a slur against the mentally disabled!"

Gods, the Internet is giving me such a headache. Apparently, it's a fad now to be offended by EVERYTHING. Someone says something you don't agree with? It "triggers" you. You're offended by what a person has said? Call them "ableist."

To the people who throw around "ableist", "trigger", and "oppressive" like free candy, remember what dear old Inigo Montoya once said: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

In a sort of related note, a small rant about homophobia. )

Meanwhile, I've been replaying SA2B and raising Chao.

- I've forgotten how tsundere half the cast is, especially Shadow. <.<;;;
- Security Hall still needs to die in a fire.
- Something funny happened while I was at Egg Quarters. You know how Omao-Chao makes these pained cries and lectures you when you beat him up? I think I pulled a glitch or something, because while I was trying to find a key, I kept hearing Omao-Chao screaming every few seconds. Now that is something that doesn't happen everyday. 8)

I had a dream this morning where Will from Pokemon asked me for a date. I told him yes, but I wouldn't take the relationship any further, since I already have a boyfriend.

I think my mind is telling me something. James (IRL!James, not Rocket) >>>>>>>>>> Will anyday. Nomnomnom~ ♥

Also found this weird comic on Rule 34 of Hopper x Ukerific!Flik scribbled to the lyrics of Alice Cooper's "Poison." OH FANDOM. My brain hurts.

1. Before I went to sleep, I was watching Madameluna, DeceasedCrab, and enigmaopoeia's LP of Clock Tower. Then I watched the first three parts of DeceasedCrab forcing Madameluna to play Shadowgate. I went ahead and watched all the deaths in Shadowgate/Uninvited/Deja Vu 'cause hey, curiosity. So unforgiving!

2. I dreamed I was playing Clock Tower, only it was vastly different. Jennifer kept discovering multiple paths and different demons/monsters that completely deviated from Scissorman and the mansion, and usually resulted in all sorts of new endings and deaths. She's attacked by a possessed boy in one (supposedly her friend who isn't Lotte/Laura/Ann) and discovers a Houdini death mechanism in one room, etc. Oh, and there's an ending where you control a ninja to beat an alligator or a zombie, and another where you're a chicken and you set yourself on fire to beat the boss. Then later one of your chicks grows up and does the same. Kamikaze is inherited!

3. The last part of the dream involved Clock Tower being back to normal, but instead of Jennifer, you're controlling Team Chaotix. Cue Vector holding Charmy and trying to keep him from whimpering/freaking out, which is a cute and suspensful image knowing what danger they're in. Vector is trying to warn Espio that Scissorman can see through his camoflauge technique, and that's when I woke up.

HOLY SNAP. THAT WAS AWESOME.

Why can't I get dreams like that after watching something scary like Clock Tower? Clearly Shadowgate had something to do with it.

~ From "Mad Girl's Love Song"

When I get a hedgehog, I might get a girl. If I do, I'm naming her Sylvie. There's two reasons for this.

1. It's the same name as our old family hedgehog, Sylvie, which my parents gave away because they didn't like each other at all. XD She was named for a favorite folk song about a man in jail who falls in love with his caretaker (or was it nurse?) named Sylvie, dreaming that one day she'd leave him the keys in his cell so he could escape... which she does at the end of the song.

2. Sylvia Plath, one of my favorite poets. I think of the original hedgehog Sylvie and what an adorable name it is for her, partly because of this.

Apparently, I was so tired I went to bed at 11 (interrupted once at 1 by Mom's stupid cell phone) and woke up at 2 today. A disturbing dream of mine just finished, and oddly enough, it had nothing to do with the Slender Man even though he was starting to freak me out from remembering the photos of him. It's about an awful sequel to The Incredibles, but not the kind of "awful" that you usually expect from sequels. It's more like... passive-aggressive awful. You'll see.

Pixar, is this a cruel joke on us? )

Huh. After typing all that, I had the slowing-down version of the Lavender Town theme from Pokemon CreepyBlack in my head, as if this dream was a sort of movie creepypasta. Weird. Doesn't make the dream any less disturbing though. D: If Pixar DOES make a sequel to the Incredibles, I can thank my lucky stars this'll be nothing like it was in my nightmare. I hope.

I wish Mom didn't call me so much, then I would've finished typing this much sooner like she'd have hoped.

I seem to be the kinda dreamer where I have three unrelated dreams stringed together at once. One of them involved me ordering Sonic, Shadow, Ness and Ninten ice creams to see what the flavors were like. Lots of swimming in warm water. Washington Monument. Watching Wayne's World on the last day of school. Kids laughing at me and dressing me up in a slutty blue suit and left to roam in the hallways near-naked.

Then I met Eusine at the bus stop. Where he was kind and assuring and he kissed me. He kissed me~! ♥ His kiss was soft and gentle~

Man, gotta love those kissing dreams. ♥♥♥

Bro's birthday yesterday? Was kickass.

We went bowling! My brother turned 18, we got to laugh at Dad on camera, we nommed on pizza and cake and ice cream, and I played the best game in bowling I had in years. I even got a double strike on my last turn! Before we left, I found this cute little white doggie in the front yard who immediately took a liking to me and started kissing me at 100 times a second or something. I looked at the tag, her name was Fifi, and I carried her home which fortunately was across the street. The owner didn't even know she was missing. :o Glad to know the doggie's all right now. :)

Even my dreams were interesting tonight. The school play held auditions for Clock Tower and I got to play Jennifer, quickly realizing being stalked by an annoying scary bastard wasn't my idea of fun. I helped a little kid find a WALL-E puzzle in the dirt/snow, swam underwater for Pokemon toys I dropped for sacrifice, etc. Now for the kicker. I dreamed someone leaving me a comment regarding the beginning of Secret of Mana, showing an "alternate scenario" that happened in the "Anime." Hero is banished. But one by one, the hero's close friends and family gather round and decide to be banished too. Eventually, the entire town (except for the corrupt Javert-like soldiers) agrees to send themselves in exile. 'Cause letting someone they cared about stay is wrong, they might as well be gone too. I thought that was heartwarming and kind of cool, even if my head obviously made up stuff about the game that wasn't there. :P

Edit: Cake for breakfast is one of life's small pleasures~ ♥

So I had a dream Tim Burton was doing a movie adaptation of Into The Woods, and we were watching a trailer in which Red Riding Hood is tricked by the Witch to go into her house. (Eh?) Lots of tall yellowish/green grass under a gray sky, might even be swamplands, who knows. But wait, it gets better. It turns out that Tim Burton was making a movie out of Super Mario RPG. You know Jim Henson and Frank Oz's The Dark Crystal, where everyone is played by puppets? It's exactly like that in the SMRPG movie. Mario and Peach are played by real people, and somehow Mario manages to be an innocent and serious hero without being tacky or using Charles Martinet's falsetto. oO;; The most I could see of the movie was three trailers, and go figure, I was wetting my pants and super excited, and I especially wanted to see what Burton did with Geno. I kept being scared and preparing to be super disappointed that I would wake up and it all be a dream, but my parents kept pointing to the trailers and newspapers. But damn. That would suck if I woke up before I saw Geno. Luckily I did, and we'll get there in a bit.

I remember Frogfucius being humongously badass. He was probably the most AMAZING part of the dream. His puppet was like a green bearded Moses, damn. He held Mallow to Mario and asked him to take care of him, and... Movie!Mallow is strange. oO;; He was yellow and his eyes and mouth are black and sunken in, like some kind of demented frownie-face garbage bag from Yume Nikki. He must have made some kind of squeak, but I don't think he had any lines at all.

Now we finally get to Geno (Puri assumed Burton was going to save him for last), and Geno is just... weird. oO;;; Even Puri in the dream thought this was a far cry from what she imagined him being like in the game. Basically, Mario and Mallow find him on a wooden stake hanging as a scarecrow. He separates but here's the kicker: there are two Genos. The puppet strings show clearly from both, but only the Geno in front talks; he's super cranky and cynical, and then he's yanked at by the other Geno puppet and they switch places, letting the other Geno ramble until it's the other's turn. It's like, Movie!Geno has multiple identity disorder and his two "selves" are kept separate in identical bodies, pulling the strings and fighting to be "in control."

It was... weiiiiiiiiiird. D:

Speaking of Geno:

I love the person who made this Squibie. ;________; I hope she makes a Mallow one! No, I haven't forgotten the Screencap Misadventure. :o I'm almost done with Croco, I just need to retrieve missing caps. @.@;;;

It's hard to explain why our dreams are so unsettling sometimes. It sounds silly, like say, "A fanfic writer extends every worse situation possible and forces us to sit through it while suffering with the characters." Kind of like a serial killer movie, except subtler than that. There isn't any blood. But dear fucking god. If THIS isn't disturbing... I've been perturbed by this one scene in my dream all day.

The author has Pikachu go through a gigantic waterslide. There are no gaps and openings except for the beginning and end. The author uses his omniscient powers to squeeze the water slide like the paper bag. He goes into graphic detail of Pikachu being tossed about and drowning, such as what's happening to his body and the pressure he's experiencing as his organs and brain and nose feel like exploding. At the end of the water slide, Pikachu hacks and coughs, but the author refuses to let him get a breath, and smacks him back down again. Pikachu has become a flat husk with sunken (bulging?) black eyes whose limbs can fall apart like wet paper. I remember holding him and sobbing, and rewinded the dream in hopes of saving him (especially since I was convinced Pikachu was still alive when he came out of the water slide, and would have survived if the author wasn't insisting on clamping his mouth shut) but each time he'd freeze into that horrid image and there was absolutely nothing I could do.

Interesting how sword-through-the-chest doesn't much affect me, but suffocation and drowning does. Hell, I'm too scared to drown anyone in video games on purpose, even if it's something silly like Mario. It frightens me. The paper bag thing does NOT make things better either.
