Miyamoto clears up all those important Mario myths

The "Super Mario Bros. 3 is a stage play" myth is true! I always thought that was a cute theory that made a lot of sense. :o Also, the Internet is going to prep itself for Bowser/Shigeru mpreg, I just know it.

Beluga whales are the best sea creatures in the world.

Manatees and dugongs come close. But beluga whales are the first ones I think of. ♥

This is a video Dad took of our chickens eons ago.

There's a mystery still plaguing us to this day; what kind of chickens are they? They've got these beautiful black feathers with a blue sheen, and as you can see with one of the chickens, a gorgeous golden orange pattern.

I got my laughs from seeing the Budgett's Frog on Conan O' Brien, so I went to Youtube to look for more frog hissage.

I had no idea they sounded so ear-screechingly horrible. D:

Scientists weren't kidding when they called this guy the Freddy Krueger Frog.

5 Reasons Pornstars Hate 50 Shades Of Grey

This is hilarious and so true. "Where's the dick!?" is a question I always ask myself whenever I watch mainstream porn and sex scenes. <.<

Stardust writer Neil Gaiman reveals how Gone With The Wind kept his refugee cousin alive during WWII.

In this video, best-selling writer Neil Gaiman reveals how his cousin, Helen, smuggled the book Gone With The Wind into the Warsaw Ghetto during World War Two. She would read the novel at night and tell girls in the ghetto what had happened the morning after. The story gave him a personal insight into how writers can offer an “escape” from suffering.

Gaiman has written an exclusive piece on his trip to Syrian camps for Yahoo. It is contained within this article here.

I want me and my books to be like this for people someday. ;;

I almost teared up reading about Ayman and everything he does for the Syrian refugees. What a wonderful, wonderful person. ♥

I went to an animation Livestream yesterday, which showed a cute movie called "A Monster in Paris." There's two versions, the English dub and the original French, and we watched the latter with subtitles. It's got teeny bits and pieces of "Phantom of the Opera" and little homages to other films such as "La Belle et la Bête" and "King Kong" and a charming cast (for the most part. The chat booed whenever the annoying waiter showed up. XD), including the titular monster who is a giant flea and his only dialogue is in song during the film's musical numbers. He's so cute and timid and sweet! (And the chat squeed with me, of course) And his voice is gorgeous in French. Sean Lennon (John Lennon's son) plays him in the English version and he does fine from what I've heard of him, but I'm too spoiled by the original French actor, haha. XD

Here's the song he sings after we see his form for the first time.

Sorry for the Spanish subtitles, but this is the closest to high quality of the French version I can find. Anyway, the highlight of the movie is when Francoeur (aka the Adorable Flea Monster) and Lucille share a duet together:

La Seine (French version)

Watch it when you've got spare time, nomnomnom. I'm certainly glad I did. :D *adds Francoeur to the list of characters I've got to get icons of*

In Animal Crossing news, Cookie threw a party for Queen Mary today, and Marshal and Skye attended the party too. I love you, Cookie. ;; Never change. ♥

I finally finished my English paper! Now I can curl up and dread my lab exam tomorrow morning. :P

My dreams can be really cruel sometimes. I dreamed I was reading this awesome Sonic comic and I was excited about getting the next one. There was also an ad for a SatAM movie done by professional animators (who worked for Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, etc.) called "The End", which is basically supposed to be the conclusion of the entire series. Dear lord, if only that was real. ;;

Also, this AMV is amazing. I know jack about Eva, but the editing... wow. *-*

Someone made a homage to BEN.wmv and the Mario 64 pasta. Not too bad. The Toads with BEN's face on them are certainly creepier than recent stuff I've seen. :P

Remember when I made fun of the Mario 64 creepypasta? This time, Sonic gets a turn! "Sonic.EXE" sure gets circulated a lot, despite well... being cliche as hell. Zalgo'd Sonic, oooooooh, scary!

The pasta's here and the gameplay's here. I also thought this guy's playthrough was rather amusing. Onto the riffing!

TEH GAM WIT ALL TEH BLOD )

You know, there really ought to be creepypasta bingo cards, like with yaoi. I think I made a blackout with this pasta alone!

Tissa David, who died on Aug. 21 at age 91 in New York, was one of the world's great animators and a woman whose artistry is peerless in the traditionally male-dominated animated-cartoon field.

Fuck. She died the day before my birthday, too. I may not be overly familiar with Tissa's work, but I adored her animation in "Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure" and from what I read in John Canemaker's book, she was absolutely hardcore. She survived bombings, starvation, crossing the Hungarian border, language barriers, and she challenged the animation industry by proving that a woman can be a great animator. ("In America, animation was a jealously guarded men's field," she said. "So girls should be assistants, inkers, painters—not animators.") Kudos to you, Tissa. Hope you're having fun in the afterlife.

Edit: There's plans for a new Raggedy Ann & Andy movie.

I only have this to say: Please please please please please please PLEASE don't be like the live-action/CGI "The Smurfs." Though I won't complain about Neil Patrick Harris having a good role. ;D Maybe as Andy... Fuck, now I can't unsee it.

Okay, one more thing. Live-action doesn't sound like it'll bode well, but I hope they can make the puppetry/CGI work without suffering from Uncanny Valley Syndrome. There... are some things that just work better as 2D animation. :/

Jimmy and I were delayed by three days, since we couldn't see each other on the weekend or Monday, but when we met up yesterday, it was totally worth it. ♥ And what does he do after I read him Sonadow badfic? He looks for a .pdf of "50 Shades of Grey" to download, saying he'll read it to me once I get on Skype. Le sigh. He was surprised and disgusted that there were three books though. XD Poor Jimmy, you claim to be so logical and jaded, but you still have your naive moments.

Speaking of 50 Shades of Grey, here's a dramatic reading by Gilbert Gottfried. (NSFW, audio-wise)

I'd buy the audiobooks in a heartbeat if he ever did the entire series.

Edit: Check out the English beta names for the first 150 Pokemon!. Some of those names are... really bad. "Att"/"Lantis" for Kabuto/Kabutops? "Hocus"/"Pocus" for Abra/Kadabra? Really? "Foxfire" for Vulpix, wow so creative. :/ It's interesting how many of them retained their Japanese names though, like "Pudding"/Jigglypuff and "Lucky"/Chansey. Koffing and Weezing are referred to as "NY" and "LA"... New York and Los Angeles respectively. Dang, that's harsh. :o Meanwhile, Marowak is "Guardia", which immediately makes me want to make "Chrono Trigger" jokes.

I'll admit "Aria" is cute for Clefairy though. But then they got lazy and just added "la" at the end for Clefable's name, so I'm glad those names were ditched. :P

Puri decided to quit delaying the torture and get "Thumbelina" out of the way. While it's Idiot Plot Central, I surprisingly liked it better than "The Pebble and the Penguin." A certain song called "Let Me Be Your Wings" helps like... a whole friggin' lot. Especially since it's the best song (hell, thing) in the entire damn film. Even if it is a ripoff of "A Whole New World", it still gives me warm gooey fangirl feelings in all the right ways. So yeah, I genuinely love that song. ;; As for my thoughts on the infamous "Marry the Mole"... let's say that after I've been exposed to an atrocity like Hot Problems, I've been desensitized from the worst Barry Manilow had to throw at me from that film.

Now that I've gotten those two 90s Bluth films out of the way, that leaves me room to watch quality movies, particularly a certain obscure gem that's been recommended to me... "The Sea Prince and Fire Child"/"The Legend of Sirius" made by Sanrio, the same studio who brought you the Unico movies and "Ringing Bell."

"Sea Prince and Fire Child" is the English dub, while "Legend of Sirius" is the Japanese version. I've watched both of them similtaneously and it's interesting to compare them. Some lines/scenes I liked better in the dub than the sub and vice versa. The dub does have its fair share of Narm, though. :P Only the sub has an opening and ending theme, while the dub is just instrumental. :o Shouldn't really matter which version you watch though.

Sea Prince and Fire Child: Part 1
The Legend of Sirius: Part 1

What's it about? It's loosely based off of "Romeo & Juliet", starring an Underwater Peter Pan and a Fiery Feferi.

Non-Spoiler Verdict: Oh my god. ALL. MY. FUCKING. FEELS.

AND THE SPOILER VERDICT. I don't think it needs a warning, but there's non-sexual boobs under the cut, just to be on the safe side. )
