Sticky: Do you think we should’ve told Buddy about Brad’s past?
Rick: C’mon, Brad changes his story all the time! It would be no better telling her a lie than nothing at all.
Rick, you piece of human garbage, this is where you’re fucking wrong. Victims of abuse can have a fuzzy memory, and yes, their story can change depending on things they’ve remembered and lost. But the forest remains unchanged despite the rearrangement of trees. The big picture is Brad and Lisa were abused by Marty as kids, and Marty molested Lisa.
If Buddy had been told the truth about Marty, she wouldn’t have believed Brad killed an innocent man who cared about her. If she had been told what happened to Lisa, her uncles stopping hugging her and Brad never touching her would’ve made more sense. At the very least, she would’ve resented Brad for being overprotective of her, not just that and maybe believing nobody touched her because something was fundamentally wrong with her or she was being punished for good, which is traumatizing as fuck for a child.
Fuck you Rick. You and Sticky didn’t deserve being brutalized by Brad and weren’t sexual predators like he (and by proxy, the audience if they played Lisa the First) thought, but you sure as hell weren’t innocent. How fucking dare you shut down Sticky for expressing the smallest remorse and possibility that he was responsible for how Brad and Buddy turned out. How dare you assume you did nothing wrong and that this was all 100% on Brad. Fuck you fuck you fuck you. You, Cheeks, and Sticky were shitty friends to Brad. Yes, Brad needed to be held accountable for some of his actions, but it’s not like you could’ve at least TRIED to help him. Or tried to ween him off the painkillers when his addiction started. But no. You decided it wasn’t even worth it. You wrote Brad off as a hopeless junkie. You did absolutely nothing as he went off his downward spiral, then had the gall to blame him for it.
And would you look at that. It ended up harming Buddy, her relationship with her father, and even her uncles further down the line. But nope! This is all Brad’s fault! None of the uncles had any part of it. 🤪 And this is why I’m not an uncles stan, with only the slightest bit of sympathy for Sticky. Fuck you, Rick. Fuck you fuck you fuck you.
