(TW: CSA) ...Welp. I take back everything nice I said about Brad Jones in my NC The Wall MST. Hell, anything nice I said about him in general.
This hurts me more than when I learned Doug Walker was a clueless hypocritical jerk, tbh. Whereas I had already stopped watching the Nostalgia Critic before #ChangeTheChannel happened, I loved the Cinema Snob for years (along with DVD-R Hell, Midnight Screenings, and most 80s Dan) and he introduced me to a whole lot of obscure weird shit I would've otherwise never heard of. I got to lol at porno spoofs I wouldn't have dared check out on my own and learn about disturbing/controversial films from the safety of my room, and he was one of the few people I knew who mocked bad religious films without bashing religion itself. To know that the same guy who chewed out the main lead of "Rock: It's Your Decision" for his homophobia and exposed the creepiness of Clay Walsh from "Old Fashioned" turned out to be a creep himself is so... heartbreaking.
Knowing Brad stayed with Doug and Rob on CA should've been the first warning sign, but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Then the more I learned about him (his broken friendships, the Logan Paul comment), the more my faith in him decreased. I unsubscribed from his channel beforehand, but this... this is officially the nail that breaks the coffin.
Never meet your heroes, kids. They'll only betray you in the end.
