First Fandom of 2011: Pokemon B/W. And Raggedy Ann & Andy, aka my Obscure Fandom.
Favorite Main Character of 2011: Pinkie Pie! If you want main-main, Twilight Sparkle. :)Though he's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay far from being a main character, I'm totally gaga for Grimsley too. Fuck yeah.
Favorite Villain of 2011: THIS IS THE YEAR OF VILLAINS. Let's check them out!
- Lord Kuruku from Unico and the Island of Magic. HOLY FUCK HE IS TERRIFYING. Just... listening to him is bad enough. He'll turn you into a puppet and use you as a building block for his castle.
- Kyubey from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. HATERS GONNA HATE. I love this fucking bastard. ／人◕ ‿‿ ◕人＼
- Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. There's a reason "Hip to be Square" is on my iPod.
- Alex DeLarge from A Clockwork Orange. A classic villain protagonist! "Singing in the Rain" immediately makes me think of the guy/movie/book without fail. And he likes Beethoven.
- Discord from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He is so much fucking fun. I hope he comes back in future episodes. ;; If not... his short run was definitely a sweet one. ;D "Eternal chaos comes with chocolate rain, guys! Chocolate rain!" You said it, Pinkie.

Favorite Yuri Couple of 2011: Applejack/Rarity from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Honorable mention: Homura/Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. THIS YEAR WAS FULL OF PONIES AND MAGICAL GIRLS. MOSTLY PONIES.
Favorite Yaoi Couple of 2011: Andy/Marius from my novel-in-progress. Might as well be honest. :P Though if you want a true fandom answer, I was quite infatuated with Grimsley/Marshal from Pokemon B/W, so there's that.
Fandom That You Never Expected To Get Into: Homestuck. :o I PROMISE I'M NOT ONE OF THE INSANE FANS THOUGH. I mostly sit in my own sandbox with friends, haha. XD
Fandom That Made An Unexpected Comeback: Sonic the Hedgehog for short spurts of glory. After Nicole beat SA2B, I showed her Sonadow and Knuxouge art. I watched some of the playthrough of Sonic 2006 for lulz and got hit by nostalgia, and then someone made a post of Sonic Generations which got me curious about the games again. And omg, Sonic CD just got a re-release. ghdskjghdkjsghkdg.
Not to mention I discovered one of my friends filled an old Sonic/Griff request I left at the kink meme. All my love,da_space_kase. All my love. ;;
Fandom That Inspired The Most Crack: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Lots of it. When one of your main characters is Pinkie Pie, that's to be expected.

Fandom of 2011: *singing* My Little Poniiiiiiiy, My Little Poniiiiiiy, ahhhhhhhh~
One of the first things I'll be watching for the new year will be "My Little Pony: Rescue at Midnight Castle." "Con Air" will be coming up soon. Oh yes.
I wasn't able to write as much fanfiction for two reasons:
A. Puri being busy on her novel.
B. High anxiety. It's been getting worse and worse these days and I'm picky and self-critical and ugh. I have a feeling I'm going to regret starting or finishing a LOT of fanfics. :( (And others I regret writing in the first place. Of course.)
List of fics.
- Homeward. Yume Nikki, Madotsuki & Masada, PG-13. I always wanted to write an adaptation of the Trip-to-Mars dream in Yume Nikki, and this is the result. Masada is my favorite character in the game and interaction between Madotsuki & Masada (platonic or romantic, or even just STABBY-STABBY) makes me baw. Yume Nikki fic ended up being tougher to write than I thought, 'cause it gets... personal. I had to leave this fic alone for a while before I revised it and asked a friend to beta. You could say it's probably the best thing I've written all year. :P
- Pink Dream. Pokemon, Picnicker Carol & Munna, G. I'm a sucker for mixing nostalgia and new things, and paying attention to NPCs or obscure characters no one else cares about. Someone onpokanon wanted to see Picnicker Carol go to Unova and find a Munna, so I wrote it. :) This was before B/W came out in the US, so I used Japanese names. XD SO HERE WE GO. SIMPLE FLUFF INVOLVING A PINK POKEMON WITH A FLORAL PATTERN.
From that day forward, Shiny Musharna became the mascot ofazure_sashes. Alas, LJ's recent idiocy has left her unemployed...
- Scarf Love. Pokemon, Grimsley/Marshal, NC-17. This fanart (NSFW) is one of the hottest things I've seen this year. Someone at the kink meme wanted this pairing featuring Grimsley's scarf. Bingo! Despite Puri's nervousness about writing Grimsley and Marshal, this fic went pretty well! I have a couple more Grimsley/Marshal fics in the backburner, but alas, I've been too afraid to finish them. That, and my Pokemon interest is waning, so baaaw. :(
- Cheri Berries From Johto. Pokemon, Morty/Eusine, G. I missed writing those two, and I've never written enough fic to show my appreciation for my Johto OTP. ;( This was something short and sweet and fuzzy and I just... had fun with it. Another kink-meme fill aside, it was inspired by "Snow Cherries in France." Which... is vying for my favorite Tori Amos song. <.<;;;
- Shocking Star. Pokemon, Flint/Volkner, R. This fic... disturbs me. D: A requester at the kink meme left this: "Flint/Volkner. Volkner's raped by whoever (not Flint) and Flint comforts him." I had this beta'd by several people before posting so it didn't have Unfortunate Implications or gross inaccuracy to the point of being insulting, striving as much for realism as I can. I'll let you be the judge whether I've succeeded or not. Either way, this fic makes me feel fucking uncomfortable. This fic and my novel (which has a similar h/c situation) have me more wigged out and annoyed when writers just slap rape around for Instant Trauma, aka Rape is the New Dead Parents. Let's move on to a more comfortable subject. :(
- Regenerator. Pokemon, Audino & Scrafty, G. And what better way than getting hugged by an Audino when you're feeling blue? :3 This is easily one of my favorite fills at the kink meme. Free opportunity to write two Pokemon you love! It was also written a few days before Pokemon Dream World came out, and... needless to say, I liked my interpretation better. :P
- Justified. Pokemon, Male!Gardevoir/Gallade, G. Buwahahahahaha, I love messing with gender. Someone wanted a cute fill with this, and it was like the prompt was calling to me~ Just something short and sweet that doesn't involve scary porn. Yay~
- Fitting Back Together. Pokemon, N/Touko, R. It took me forever to finish this fic. Like... several months. "The Origin of Love" from Hedwig and the Angry Inch steered the course for this fic, so expect some parallels with the song. :o I don't know what else to say except FUCK YEAH IT'S FINALLY DONE. Oh, and finish your entire fill before you post it on a kink meme. That helps take the stress off your shoulders by a ton.
The rest hardly count, but here they are anyway:
- READY! FOR CUPCAKES. Eversion/My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic/Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure, Zee-Tee + Pinkie Pie (Pinkamena) + The Greedy, R. What the fuck. What. The. FUCK. Yes, I wrote a fanfic crossover involving Cupcakes by Sergeant Sprinkles: World's Greatest Party Clown. In short, Cupcakes!Pinkie feeds Zee-Tee cupcakes made up of all her friends, with an alternative ending depending whether or not Zee-Tee transforms. The quality of this fic is dubious at best, but I'm rather disturbed how IC the Greedy is and how fun it was writing him. oO;;;
- Justice Science Theater. MST of a Pokefic, Azelf + Mesprit + Uxie, R. The Lake Trio MST a 2nd-person-POV "Rise of Darkrai" fanfic that bashes the living hell out of Baron Alberto in the most ridiculous and mind-boggling case of Rape Is The New Dead Parents ever. The sequel to a fic called The Hatred of the Shadow, a wangsty Darkrai fic that also bashed Alberto written by the author's friend, and also MSTed by the Lake Trio three years ago.
- Unnamed Andy/Marius fluff. Puri's Novel, Raggedy Andy/Marius, G. I'm not sure if this will be an actual scene in my book or not, so... this could be fanfic of my own novel. OH BOY. INCEPTION. Basically an idea what Andy & Marius' relationship would be like once they get the ball rolling~
- Unnamed character study of Marius. Puri's Novel/Puella Magi Madoka Magica AU, Marius & Kyubey, R. Good idea, Puri. Introduce your character to your readers in a disturbing fic taking place right after a horrible traumatic moment in his life. Not to mention it makes me uncomfortable in the same way Shocking Star does) Another emotionally draining piece of writing, and one that takes liberties with the Madokaverse at that. (Kyubey asking Marius to make a contract even though he's male) I gotta write a non-creepy/triggering Marius sample for any hope of people caring for my novel characters at all. That there's more to Marius than just OMG TRAGIC PAST AND ISSUES!!1!11 :/ I wonder if I even should've shared this at all. ANXIETY EVERYWHERE.

I'm proud of how Homeward turned out. ;; I liked Cheri Berries From Johto and Regenerator 'cause they're fluffy and innocent and make me squee. Maybe Scarf Love. Mwoiiiiing~
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Shocking Star, dear god. Lesson: Rape is not fun. Something I knew already, but character channeling makes it 1000x worse. D: It's even worse with the Marius & Kyubey fic. Just.. gdjskghdskjghk *hedgehog hiss*
On lighter news, writing Grimsley/Marshal despite being nervous about them being IC. Lesson: You'll feel better about yourself having written anything at all.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Eh, the under-appreciated fic deserve to be under-appreciated. :(
Most fun story to write: Cheri Berries From Johto. I felt light and free and I rarely experience that feeling in writing anymore. :(
Story with the single sexiest moment: Scarf Love. O bby.
Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: Shocking Star. *hedgehog hiss forever*
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: I'M SORRY VOLKNER. T-T Thank god this won't ever be part of my headcanon. Flint's vulnerable side though, daww.
Hardest story to write: Fitting Back Together. What a pain in the fucking ass that fic was to finish. X( Homeward was emotionally draining, and so was the Marius & Kyubey fic. But god, Fitting Back Together was so annoying and I don't want to go through that experience of leaving a fill unfinished at a kink meme again. X(
Biggest Disappointment: lol. The fact that I barely written anything at all. I'll go and say READY! FOR CUPCAKES 'cause what the fuck was that.

Most Unintentionally Telling Story: Homeward, where you read parts of Madotsuki's diary that eerily reminds me of something I've written in my own LJ when I was suicidal. And well... there does seem to be a common theme in my fics IF I ever write something.
