shamanicshayminI just got Falkner's number at probably what must be the last second. He's so adorable about his dad. The Gym Leaders I met usually ask me to call them back if they want a rematch, but Falkner wants me to call so we could talk about his father. Awww.
I like it when the Gym Leaders call me out of the blue too. I think Janine called me, and Blaine wanted to thank me for visiting him at Cinnabar/Seafoam Islands. Awww. I'm having pictures taken too, which is sweet. My Darkrai got nervous after having a picture with Janine. Awww. I think I'm beginning to see an ego streak in Janine, which she definitely got inherited from her dad. :P
Meeting up with the Gym Leaders again is like meeting a bunch of people who you used to know at school years ago, coming up and reminiscing about the old times and how we've grown and changed, and becoming old friends.
That said, Heart Gold/Soul Silver is the ultimate nostalgia trip for someone like me who's been playing Pokemon for over 10 years. ;-; I was this wee tyke playing with Jigglypuff in Smash Bros. and snapping pictures for Oak for Pokemon Snap as a 10-year-old, starting my journey on Pokemon Blue with Squirtle on my 11th birthday, reading the Ono manga and spazzing over the two Pokemon movies (especially the first!) in 4th grade, being laughed at in middle school for my Vileplume evolution shirt and getting prank calls from brats imitating Jigglypuff, having my Blue/Yellow/Gold team as my only friends in those lonely years, having my first OTP (Ash/Misty), discovering FF.net after reading Pokemon fanfiction and deciding to become a writer again... now I'm 20 years old and I'm at home where I've leveled my Pokemon to 100 for the first time and developing my team(s) and pampering my Shaymins and Togekisses.
It could be me as a trainer speaking, but Pokemon is something that's grown with me. As I grow older and mature, Pokemon follows. I think I understand what my sister said about her long-time love for Legend of Zelda. When Ocarina of Time came out and Link pulled out the Master Sword and became an adult, so did my sister. At her age, she grew up and so did Link.
I got Mew from Hayley in Ranch and I don't have to be her slave anymore. brb off to coddle my poggles some more~ ♥
