Puri Scanventures! Rise of Darkrai Part 2

Shouldn't the last chapter be called that instead while this one is "Strange Happenings in Town!"? You'll see in a bit. This is one fucked chapter.





Last time on Power Rangers! What's this? Brock and Dawn being useful and having actual roles than standing around in the sidelines? *GASP*

Brock sends Sudowoodo and Happiny while Dawn brings out Buizel and Piplup. Needless to say, Ash gets run over like a bowling pin, but that's not because of Darkrai:



"I AM SAILOR ALBERTO! In the name of the Moon, I shall right wrongs and triumph over evil! And that means you!"

House Alberto? You mean it's not House Franchetti? lulz random Psyduck

Sudowoodo and Happiny fall victim to Dark Void. Dawn would've too, if Ash hadn't pushed her out of the way (and Pikachu pushing Piplup).



Buizel? Wasn't so lucky. Humans and cute Pokemon were spared in the movie, but Manga!Darkrai excludes no victims. :P

Alice: Ouch! I'm bleeding from the shoulder, except not!



Ash gets keeled over by the still-stubborn Alberto. "You're good... but I'm better!" Dude he's turned into Star Wolf!



Yes. The Corny Villain Laugh TM is there. Darkrai gets bored and zaps Lickilicky in the back. Also, if that tongue is as obscenely powerful as it is to break walls, I hope Lickilicky NEVER shows up in hentai. Too late I bet. D:



NOW Alberto cares! XD He's actually much more concerned about Lickilicky in the manga if that says anything about him. XD



Puri still doesn't give a damn about Dialga & Palkia. XD I do like this first shot of Time Pony though, so here you go.



I like the little rips showing Alamos town. Aw Alberto. :(



"My face! It's hot wax! I'M MELTING MELTING" Team Rocket catches Alberto being a softie and catches it on tape. XD But um. This is not looking good on the last panels. oO;;;



wtf GJSHGJKS I CAN'T STAND this transformation scene dnsjkghjkht NOOOOOOOOOOO. 'Cause you know what that reminds me of? Inflation fetishists from DA. I'm talking MikeMedia freaky levels here. Do not want. I don't blame Team Rocket or Ash one fucking bit. I also like that Ash doesn't waste any time making bad jokes. Just says, "Wake me up." 'Cause dude. WAKE ME UP INSIDE. CALL MY NAME AND SAVE ME FROM THE DARK.



okguizyoucanlooknow. @.@;;; Here's a fun joke lost in translation: Lickilicky's Japanese name is "Berobelt". There's no "L" sound in Japanese language, so his name is said, "Beroberuto". Cue Alberto aka "Aruberto." His name is a play-on-words and as a Berobelt, the Baron becomes "Baron Beroberuto/Areberuto." :D In English, this would be the equivalent of saying, "I'm not Beroberuto! I'm Aruberto!" or "I'm not Lickilicky! I'm Baron Lickilicky!" My Japanese isn't perfect, but you get the idea. XD We'll be seeing those jokes come into play later, but not this chapter. XD



It's going to be ad nauseum from here on out, but I'll say it again: Manga!Tonio is adorable. Look at those frightened expressions! *______________* And his little "Yikes!" moment when Buizel flies through him. In which that panel looks strangely perverted. Are you that was his torso Buizel was aiming for or his crotch? oO;;;



Again. gjdskgdrgh TONIO'S ALWAYS BLUSHING. I know the "FLUSTER" effect was probably meant for the transparent Pokemon, but if it's meant for Tonio above, it must mean he's like flailing and awwww! X33333

And um. Get ready for the most perverted and twisted page in the entire manga:



Okay. I was a crackshipper of Alberto/Tonio before, but this entire page confirms it. Hell, from first panel. Baron could just be standing there, yeah, but what if he was grabbing his sweater vest? "...He touched the butt." BUT THAT IS NOWHERE COMPARED TO THE FINAL PANEL. I want to believe that IS Baron Lickikicky's tongue and not... his new giant boner. NO SERIOUSLY LOOK HOW IT'S DRAWN. The little "splash" doesn't help either. God I feel so bad for Tonio. Being tongue-raped so young, so soon!



Enough brain-breakage, back to the plot. I like Buizel and Sudowoodo in the panel there. They look pained. :(



Oh Alberto ILU XD Also Tonio's silhouette looks like he's wearing goggles. THE GOGGLES. THEY DO NOTHING.



"By Grabthar's Hammer, I will avenge me!" C'mon Alberto, you totally have the opportunity! Guard Tonio and hold his shoulder~ ♥



Remember the three trainers in the movie? Here's two of 'em now.



"Who's that rap-rap-rappin' over mah bridge!?"

While Ash fiddles with his Mobius Strip, Dawn and Brock meet with Alice and Tonio:



"We've got everything from Queen to Led Zeppelin!"



Another thing I like about the manga is that Brock, Dawn and Ash are allowed to doubt Alice & Tonio. Here Brock is "But what about Darkrai? Forget this unrelated backstory crap, what should we doing now?" In the movie the producers can't comprehend Alice and Tonio having flaws. Hell, back at the PokeCenter scene, they're retrieving Pidgies and Murkrows. I repeat: Pidgies and Murkrows. You might as well be saying "Save the sparrows! Save the grakels! Save the crows too!" 'Cause dear fucking god. There's a fine line between matryism to being so holy and unrealistic you need a punch to the face. Thank god that Pidgey/Murkrow bit wasn't in the manga.

P.S. Movie Producers: Tonio being a klutz and getting hit by falling objects isn't a flaw, especially if it's comic relief and endearing. /rant

OMG Eevee! :D



Alicia! Like with Godey, Grannie!Alicie is only a silhouette. Which again, I believe makes her more mysterious and awesome. XD

"Everyone is equal. But some are more equal than others."



You know how assertive Alice was in the movie? Guess we know where she got it from. :P Alicia looks so mischievous ("I solemnly swear I'm up to no good!"), it's so adorable. X333!

Huh? Ash and Pikachu? Oh right.



At this point, Puri got tired and decided to scan both pages at once. So even if Pikachu's kinda funky lookin' on the first page, Darkrai Double Teaming on the second looks really damn sweet. *______*



Darkrai may have limited communication, but at least he makes an effort of getting Ash to understand him in the manga. :P



Factory disc in the sky! Smithy's army is taking over! Ash becomes Hitomi and finds a vision:
