When I was little, my parents joined the theater. I got to know stuff like "Into the Woods" very well--my Dad played the Mysterious Old Man. *nodnod!* Well, one day, my mother scored a part of a certain play. Her best friend, Jane, also joined her though in a more major role. Though it's been YEARS since I know the play and I don't remember all the music, I did know it was one heck of a time. XDD! What particulary stood out was because I took a more active role in the theater though I myself wasn't "in" a play, so to speak. I got to join in and watch rehersals, and I even helped backstage, like cleaning the floor and picking up nails and such. I got to know some of the actors--one of them being this real sweet man who plays a really nasty policeman who twists a bird's head off. XDDD!
The play? "Sweeney Todd". Jane played the old woman who was Sweeney's wife, and won an award for her performance. (My mom was apart of the choir)
Puri likes Johnny Depp, right? Normally Puri doesn't care for actors (I want to see the CHARACTER, not BRAD PITT trying to be the character), but he's one of the few she actually enjoys enough to be excited about him. (See: Ron Perlman. Tom Hanks. No, I'm not telling you the rest of my embarressing "Awesome Actors" list. :P) Well, on the news today, concerning movies...
Johnny Depp is gonna play the title role in "Sweeney Todd".
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~!
Considering how crappy the movies have been lately (and the dread of what's coming out...if they screw up the remake of Charlotte's Web, Hollywood/Los Angeles/whatever made it is going to be WIPED OFF THE FUCKING MAP IN A SLOW AGONIZING DEATH), this is the best news I've heard all day. :3333~! ♥♥♥♥♥
Man, and to think that several days ago in the mountains, with the family and I reminiscing over "Sweeney Todd" and trying to remember and sing the lyrics of the songs, who would've anticipated that it would be made for the screen?
As my Dad said, Johnny always liked the whimsical roles~
