Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter in your journal, including an explanation what the word means to you and why, and then pass out letters to those who want to play along.
demonoflight gave me letter P. So here we go!
1. Purin: Okay, so I kinda cheated there. XD But still, Jigglypuff's Japanese name. So HA. Basically, first Pokémon I had ever been exposed to, which may be before or after Pikachu. Thought she was cute, and it was to my squealing joy I found her again in "Super Smash Bros." and learned her name. Thus, not only did I grow curious and play "Pokémon", it became my first online fandom, which led to... many things. Aka, the rest is history. ;D I started to use her in Smash Bros. a lot, even if my sister and everyone else considered her weak and/or hated her guts. XDDD;; Even today, one of my proud achievements of video gaming is kicking ass with Jigglypuff in Smash Bros., and learning what the Rest attack did before it was explained in SSBM. That, and raising a Wigglytuff to its 50s (60s?) in my Yellow & Leaf Green cartridges. That, and Jiggly can sing. Siiiiiiiiing! I can sing too. XD With all that stuff, that's why 99.98% of the time, all my aliases/journal names are something Jigglypuff related. ;D
2. Phantom of the Opera: In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came // That voice which calls to me and speaks my name... For a long time, loooooooong before the movie came out, the very first time I heard the first six notes on the organ, I was captivated by the title song of this musical. It was chillingly beautiful, and I didn't know Erik and Christine's names at the time or who they were, but I hung upon their words like... I dunno. Obsessively, I guess. XD Later, waaaaaaaay later, Puri would go watch the 2004 movie (which by second watch, suuuuuuuuuuuuucked! XDD;;;) read the book by Gaston Leroux, and begged a friend for the Broadway soundtrack. (Where Puri, who was listening to Sarah Brightman music at the time, dropped her jaw when she read who played Christine) And damn, listening to the music brings wonders and inspiration for my different stuff like fanfics and icons. ._.;;; Erik/The Phantom, too... just wow. Mysterious, creepy, genius... plenty of points for Puri's book. :) <3<3<3 for Michael Crawford, too. *____________* Pretty much keeping my distance from Phandom, though. The ships and bashing and such get scary. ._.;;; But for now, I'm gonna be in my one-person fangirl world, and celebrate everytime I hit the final high-note on pitch at the end of the "Phantom of the Opera" song. Soprano? Me? 83
3. Purple: It's my favorite color~ I like the deep, rich shades in particular, but I also find tints of lavender pretty too. ^^
4. Pokémon: Dear god, am I obsessed! XDDD;;; That, and I have a lot of memories associating with this series, be it the games, Animé, manga, etc. Like anyone else, I was a 10-year-old when I started getting excited over Pocket Monsters, and got my first version (Blue) for my 11th birthday. Who remembers Pikablu/Marill? Who cheated to get a Pokémon with Cut and tried to check under the truck near the St. Anne for Mew? Who toyed with MBlock and/or Missing No. and evolved it to Kangaskhan? (Or blurred up your Hall of Fame forever? XDDD;;;) Who saw "Pokémon: First Movie" the veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery day it came out in theaters (November 10th?)? Who saw the same movie in Japanese through RealPlayer downloads and went on a 4KIDS-hating rampage looooooooooong before "Yu-Gi-Oh!" came out? Who remembers Pokémon band-aids, cereals, and Kraft Macaroni-&-Cheese? (Complete with tokens you cut out from the box!) Who remembers Pokémon cards having to be banned from school? Who remembers when people complained that Pokémon was a fad and that it would die off after a couple years? (And damn, since 1998, and STILL going! XDDD!) Who remembers the silly anti-Pokémon sites with all the bloodied, dismembered Pikachus and accuses of Pokémon fans not being "true gamers", the whole OMG JYNX IZ RACIST fiasco, and even going as far as to accuse Pokémon fanboys as discriminating homophobics? (Of course, the Palletshipper in me finds that hilareous. ;D) Again, ten katrillion memories. And that's excluding the online fandom portion of it, with aaaaaaaaaaaall its shipwars and drama and controversies and badfic, etc. etc.! (Not to mention it's my first online fandom ever. :o)
5. Pikachu: Ahh, after that long entry, of course. X333 Seriously, I always liked Pikachu (and Raichu and Pichu. X333), even everyone was all OMG STFU PIKACHU SUXX0RZ!!!1!1! Seriously, why do I always like the characters that's hated and adored equally at both sides? XDDD;;; Anyway, I played "Hey You Pikachu!" on N64. Everyone else got frustrated, but I always kept talking to Pikachu like it was a living, breathing thing or something. XDDDD;;; I'd discover little secrets and such, like having Pikachu keep veggies from the Bulbasaur Picnic Quest and grow 'em in our garden, having him shock a piece of corn to make an entire bag of steamy popcorn, hatching Togepi from Abra's shop (and giving him a balloon. Aww~). That, and doing challenges like have all the Caterpies evolve to Metapods, waterring the Glooms to Vileplumes, and so on... I even unlocked the ending and credits. ._.;;; I remember when Pikachu and I would play the N64 and when we named Pokémon, Pikachu would glare at me for saying the Japanese names. XDDD;;;
6. Photoshop: There's nothing like making icons or making convincing screenshots to scare little kids into thinking Sonadow's canon.
7. Princess Peach: Ahh... the princess that followed me since I was three or younger! I remember thinking she was a redhead before "Super Mario 64". ^^ Absolutely adored her as a kid, floating around with her in "Super Mario 2" and such. In fact, save for the rare times I played anyone else, she was ALL I played as in SM2. XDDD;;; Then I came to the Internet, listened to people say how weak and a stereotypical damsel-in-distress she was, and grew to hate her. XD And Mario himself, but that's another story. But then, I played a little game called "Paper Mario", and my respect for Peach came back tenfold. I realized what inner strength was about, and I grown to adore her all over again, noting the little things she had done in earlier games and good lord, in "Super Mario RPG!" *__________* Don't get me started on the Frying Pan. Like, whoa. I have yet to play her actual game, but anything that's receiving better than ShtH is worth a go, eh? XDDD!
8. Pink: *singing* It's my new obsessioooooon~! *SHOT!* Naw, really. I like pink. Used to hate it for a period of time 'cause it was an "OMG STEREOTYPICALLY GIRLY COLOR!!1!1!1" but in the end, I decided "Bah! Screw genders.", 'cause I was denying myself a pretty nice color. Not as nice as purple, but it's my third favorite color after purple and blue. :) I particulary like soft pink. That's always pretty and fuzzy. ^^
9. Penguins: *baby penguin chirp hallelujah orchestra* Seriously. What IS it about these birds that make them so awesome? *___________* That, and "March of the Penguins" has to be my favorite documentary ever. C'mon, do NOT tell me that these birds aren't cute. I always smile when I hear the word "penguin". Really, I do. I love the way they waddle, I love the way they ride on their stomachs, I love the way they're tough and endure the Antarctic weather, and King Dedede's a penguin... which adds extra awesome for him. ^^ Finally, there's a particular pair of penguins named Squawk and Milou... they live in a zoo in San Francisco, and are a gay couple. :3 I should make an icon outta 'em or something from a screenshot I've saved~Seriously, gay penguins are just as awesome as gay hedgehogs. Okay, shutting up now. XDDD;;;
10. PxL: Ah ha ha, almost forgot about this one! X3333! I swear, by the time I beat "Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga", Peasley & Luigi hit me like a bag of bricks. XDD;;; Swammi and Zarla and the gang fed me on further, and now I can officially say it's one of my OTPs. X3333~! It's so gosh-darn cyute~! And we're a buncha happy, happy fangirls. ;D Weege and Daisy are fine and all, but darn, nowadays, it's just... really hard to picture Luigi as straight. XDDD;;; And PxL's too sweet to pass up. ._.;;;;But that's okay. Someone's brainwashing me into Daisy and Waluigi anyway. XDD;;;
But yep. Pretty much worked all day, so I should hope that today's effort was worth it between my family and I. *nodnod!*
...And it's official. The girl who visited us? Declares she wants the Florida Family Care & Services case closed on us.
W00t~!
Finally, as for the Wii thing... I thought it was pronounced duh-buh-yoo-eye-eye. But bwarg, who cares! I don't have to go back to foster care~~~!
