Pretty sure while PETA is being serious, the game makers are not and PETA is too dumb to realize it.

This is why you don't hire some Adult Swim game makers to make games for you, PETA. You get internet memes and references only people who have played the games would know.

I wonder if these guys realize that people in the Pokemon fandom actually tried to make a point like that in the past. Like, ten some years ago there was a fanfic entitled "Pokemon Revolution," which from my limited understanding was so bad it was believed by many to be a trollfic.

And come on, it's not like any kid would actually conflate real-life animals with pokemon. There's no way they would play a pokemon game and automatically assume that was a green light to go ordering stray dogs and cats to fight against imaginary enemies, and there's no reason to think pokemon think of fighting the same way RL animals do.
