Aloha everybodiiiiiiie~! *wraps leis over your neck* I'm home~ I've had a good time, it was wonderful~
Seriously. I felt like I needed this vacation. I was getting bored and there was all this Online Drama, and I was getting tuckered out and I couldn't focus on anything but worrying or whatnot. So, huck me on a plane to Hawai'i. I'm cured. :)
You know what happened as the plane rode over Hawaii? There was a humongous rainbow--right next to me, and everyone was all "Oooh..." I am NOT kidding. Humongoid rainbow, very clear. Just like that... magic. Then I think I was the only one who spotted a smaller one beneath the plane's wings. I'm so friggin' happy to have the window seat that time--sure, I've seen rainbows. But it's been forever since I've seen rainbow arcs. I saw a few more while we were in Hawaii itself, too--apparently, the humidity allows for plenty of 'em, so the Hawaiian license plates sport them. Hee hee...!
We stayed at a hotel in Waikiki, (later moving to another one) and oi... the first one was a pain. We had a mattress that could break your spine! :D Thankfully, I sleep on my sides, so I wasn't bothered nearly as much. Both hotels though, (the second one way nicer. :) ) I've learned one thing--I hate having one bathroom. I mean, seriously. :/ In a family of five, it sucks having to wait on people, and it makes brushing your teeth that much irritating. We lived, though. And sometime my brother had his 13th birthday, so we celebrated with cupcakes and glued himself to the Nintendo DS since then. Dammit, he got "Wario Ware Touched!" and "Kirby: Canvas Curse". I'll have to play those later, and maybe "Touch and Go" and "Mario 64 DS". *waves fist in the air* I'll be getting a DS for my birthday, if it's the last thing I dooooooooo~!
I spend some time typing about how BEAUTIFUL the mountains are, and that we went in the Largest Maze in the World (Fic Inspiration) and I beat all my family to the bases and out again within 15-25 minutes or so, and that we went on a submarine with this funny nice guy who said he was the only Native Hawaiian of his family left since they're all working in Vegas. Aww. It was way longer, but the computer randomly reset on me, and you know how annoyed I get about this sort of thing. ARRRRG.
GAAAAAAH. I remember another paragraph that got eaten when my computer reseted. More on how beautiful Hawaii was. Even in the city, there's plants and flowers everywhere. Dad took ten billion pictures of each facinating and mundane shrubbery and fern he possibly could, (Don't worry Dad, we love you) and the trees were coated with flowers... just, whoa. And the hibiscuses. I was worried I'd get sick of them seeing them all the time in Florida and Texas, but in Hawaii... there's so much unique ones there. Like a lavender hibiscus. (Where I got my picture taken by) And double-layered hibiscuses, holy hell. *____* Rainbow of hibiscuses over there. Here, go to the mountains and faint. God, I missed mountains. My mind is a photograph musuem. We saw everything from atop of one mountain, including the forests (Rain forests? Jungles?) cities, beaches, other mountains, clouds, islands, (Chinese Tin-Hat Island!) the ocean... and later, we came to these sights too, everything we saw from atop that mountain that day. Including Chinese Tin-Hat Island. :)
Okay, looks like I already retyped about the mountains. XD Okie dokies, then. That's how beautiful Hawaii is. *nudgenudge*
Dad and Mom got into the ugliest of fights before we went snorkling. I smacked Dad across the face, and was walking away so I didn't hear his next response... "Ow, my eardrum!" Whoa, Dad pulled a Teen Girl Squad! After he calmed down, he and I went to snorkel and saw fish... and a sea turtle. Repeat, a SEA TURTLE. I squealed in my snorkel, I swear it. *_____*
And both times we went to the beach? I never got sunburned. :DDD Neeeeeener, neeeeeener! *shot by family* I freckled all over, it was cute. :)
One of the best places we went to was the Polynesian Center: you got to see seven villages: being Hawaii, (Of course) Tahiti, Fiji, Samoa, Aotearoa, (New Zealand) Masquesas, and Tonga. There was this interesting tradition in Hawaii involving the nose flute--you see, God breathed life with his nose, right? Well, the nose believed to be the most pure--the mouth says horrible things while the nose is believed to stay silent. Sounds weird to you, but it ain't to me, so there. :P But now I know what "ha" means... so "Aloha" means something like "I wish God's gift of life upon you". In Samoa, we watched a guy crack a coconut apart with just his hands and a stone... and scratch out fire. We watched Tahiti dance (I sucked. XD), Tonga play the drums, and in New Zealand, I discovered a new talent--I can catch sticks! :o I'm really good at it, and my sister and I rarely slipped up and we had fun. ^^ And I think from Samoa also, I was taught how to make this toy imitating casting a grass-woven fish. :) I had such a wonderful time at that place... after we left the place the first day, I wanted to go back to the remaining villages. And I bought a cute T-shirt! XD ^^ And a really long pencil... I'm such a loser.
And now, the part we've all been waiting for... Plushies. Toys. Manga. I can hear you all now. So let's get the BALL ROLLIN'~!
"Toys & Joys": Best. Fucking Store. EVER. My sister and I were like kids in a candy store, I've never been so excited before. Let the little kids have "Toys R Us", let the adults have their pr0n shops, make way for "Toys & Joys"! *_______* I've never seen so many Animé/Game merchandise before... even my sister said something like how she hadn't seen nearly as much stuff as she did in cons. Like, WHOA. That store had so much... action figures, figurines, DVDs, plushies, I could go on and on and on and on! "Naruto" and "Inu-Yasha" mostly dominated the place, though I saw a good deal of "The Incredibles", "Evengelion", "Kingdom Hearts", and of course, and entire shelf of "Pokémon" products. XDDD Didn't focus too much on "Pokémon" though, you can find this sorta thing anywhere. XDD But! I got myself a HUMONGOUS Pikachu. And I wasn't leaving without a Jirachi plushie, so I picked him up. And he's so. Fucking. ADORABLE.
They had a humongous Goomba plushie, too. *____* I got a humongous Toad, though, considering I was told by the check-out guy that he was rare and gosh, I ain't leavin' without him. His cap is so huge and white and... clean! He's so cute. And he's being spazzy and waving his arms. XDD Aww. I tried to look for a Sonic plushieso Shadow could have some company, but there weren't really any good ones. :/ (There was a humongoid Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles though, but I didn't get them. XD) Oh well. I found a little Tails though, and though he wasn't of the highest quality, he was cute enough, and well... I didn't want to leave without him. I felt a warm aura fill me around the Tails plushie. XDD And dude, it's a TAILS plushie. The little guy's just asking to be glomped. XD And I get protective over my plushies, and I get protective over Tails, so... it matches! I like Tails. T-T
And I found a rare thing... Waddle Dee plushies! Apparently, the check-out guy said they were broken and didn't have their spears, but... I didn't care. XDD Kirby plushies~! So now, I have two matching Waddle Dee plushies, and I really want to make a sailor cap for one of them so I can have Sailor*Dee from Revenge of Meta Knight. :)
I have the first 24 episodes of "Viewtiful Joe" on DVD. MUWAHAHAHAHA.
Later, we came back to the store again for one last visit, and I got one of my favorite plushies there... the Softest Yoshi in the WORLD. Seriously. Squeeze him. HE'S ADORABLE I LOVE HIM. And it's the plushie my family seems to like most, so... XDDD I shared him with Grandma too, and she got to hug him and kiss him on the nose later. :33 Yoshi unites the people~
I also got three high-quality "Sonic" keychains--Sonic at first, but then I decided I wanted Knuckles, then what the hell, Tails too. ^^ I think there was supposed to be Shadow also, but they either sold out or didn't have him, so that sucks. XDD Oh well, I have pretty keychains now~
And a Cook*Kirby figurine on a star, and this Stamp*Art set for "Kirby" which I'll have to take pictures of. Box and everything. :3
From different book/comic stores, I got more "MARS", and I finally found #2 of "Cardcaptor Sakura". But I didn't want to waste searching any longer, so I got the whole series. :3 I still don't have "Master of the Clow", but those are easier to find, so I'm okay there. XDD I'll read those, then I'll be completely caught up (*GASP*) and be able to start reading "Tsubasa" and "xXHolic". 8-) And in the Comix stores? You won't believe it, though you probably won't be surprised.
Archie comics. I saw them with my own eyes, with the latest issue. My heart stopped pumping, my head blanked out. And I was frozen.
We went to another comix store, the same place I picked up "Cardcaptor Sakura". The latest issue wasn't concealed in a bag, ("Sink or Spin!? lolz, the world's WAY past-cool comic!") so I made sure my sister, mom, and brother weren't looking, and starting flipping through.
It. Was. HORRIBLE.
I can't begin with how ugly the art is! XDDD I dunno, for some reason, Sally and the other Freedom Fighters were wearing these thug-gangsta clothes, and apparently rounding up Sonic (dressed like them) 'cause he was supposedly a Fake*Sonic or something, and well... I forget what Sonic said. (Something like "DUDE, HEY, what are you Doooooing!?1111") But this was my immediate reaction:
Me: ...This is NOT Sonic. oO;;; NOT Sonic!
I don't think I've felt like that since I've first heard Jason Griffith voice Shadow in Dub*Sonic X. Too much Kaiba, not enough Shadow. He sounded too stuck-up and proud (Okay, Shadow's a little of the latter, but he wasn't THAT much) and seemingly cared only for himself, and I don't see Shadow like that. :/ At least I was actually okay with 4KIDS*Shadow for five seconds. Oish. oO;;;
Rouge appeared a lot in this issue, (carrying the real *cough* Sonic, apparently) wearing a pink outfit that looked like a cross between her regular one in SA2 and the one in SH. She's hideous. How hideous? She's a white furry Miss Piggy, that's what. No, I am NOT kidding. That's what she looks like. Mostly hitting on Knuckles and ends up kissing Locke by accident in this issue. Later, Sonic meets up with his imposter (*coughcoughYou'reBOTHfakerscough*) and wins, then comes home where Amy kisses him on the cheek (And calls him "hon". Um, wtf?) and Sonic has to deal with scary freaky Gangsta Freedom Fighters next issue. Cue some Shoujo*Sequence with Sally talking to this leopardish character that looks like her, and you've got the end of the comic. See you next issue in "Sonic's Angels". Gee, I wonder what show THAT relates to. OMG Archie, you're a GENIUS! *COUGHCOUGH*
The best thing I have to say about the comic was that Shadow wasn't in it. XDDD
So I went home and read me some "Azumanga Daioh", which I also bought. :3 Now that was therapy. *_____* So far, Sakaki's my favorite, followed by Chiyo-chan. :3
Non-manga related news, I reread Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The cover of my book is ugly and there were typoes in the text, but I got to reread it all the same--major nostalgia here. I love Roald Dahl, but you guys know that. T-T Also bought Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, 'cause strangely I've never read that. oO;; God dammit, I REALLY want to see the movie (Tim Burton) right now! You guys are making my childhood come alive. ;33 That, and Mom and I want to see "March of the Penguins". :3
And the airplane ride back home was... funky. I tried to sleep, but there was this annoying little brat that kept crying. oO;; Whoever said the sound of babies bawling was the most soothing relaxing sound in the world needs to cranky and tired, propped up in an airplane seat where it's crammed and uncomfortable, you can't rest your arms over the armrests 'cause your sister's reading and the man next to you is playing "Super Mario World" on the SP, and there's just this... crying... I swear I wanted to wring that little kid's head off or throw her toward the front of the plane.
I got as far as the end of chapter 6 of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Spoil me and DIE. Yes, I'm looking at you, Person-Who-Spoiled-Me-For-Book-5.
I finished Grim Grotto of Series of Unfortunate Events, though. And by the time I was done, I looked out the airport in the waiting area and it was dawn. oO;; :)
So we rode the final airplane and we got home. And I took a nap.
And I spent the rest of my day online trying to catch up with 14 emails (most of it spam) 150 deviations on Deviantart, and two weeks worth of LJ entries and... OI. That took forever to get through LJ. XDD But I caught up and got to read a cute Krazyshipping fic in the process, and some "Sonic" drabbles. :)
And two kickass reviews for my Parody*Sonadow, one which was indepth and the other which was a hysterical flame. ;D
And then, you've got me right now, present time.
I swear I'll figure out how to use Dad's digital camera...
Seriously. I felt like I needed this vacation. I was getting bored and there was all this Online Drama, and I was getting tuckered out and I couldn't focus on anything but worrying or whatnot. So, huck me on a plane to Hawai'i. I'm cured. :)
