In Corpus Christi. Where I fucking live. My house is so close to Flour Bluff my family drives past it all the time.
The schools are in fucking awful shape. The year after I graduated from Roy Miller, they stopped funding Choir (and likely related art courses such as Dance) and it was no longer taught at the school. Nowadays my mom struggles with the idiots at my brother's school so he can still attend Special Olympics and work at Dollar Tree (for no pay, as part of a job-training program the school itself provides) without being accused of unexcused absences and being punished for "playing hookie" when he's not. So now a school down the neighborhood is going to prevent ANY kid of ANY orientation from having fun after school as opposed to lounging all day in front of the television and not getting exercise or hanging with their peers, because recognizing LGBT students is more detrimental to our educational system than anything we've done for the past several years!
Those bigoted fucks. I don't even hsgjkshgsjkghsjkgh so much rage. Not sure how much signing the petition will help, but I left quite a note on the "Add a Personalized Message" part. Something along the lines of "HELLO I LIVE HERE. THIS IS WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING TO OUR SCHOOLS AND I AM NOT OKAY WITH THIS."
Maybe Raggedy Ann will cheer me up. After all, my book came in from the library today. Assuming Mom and I don't get in another fight over stupid HSN, but that's neither here or there.
