Only for Nintendo, old sport!
Feb. 28th, 2011 01:48 amThe Great Gatsby for NES.
Whoever made this deserves a billion Internets. Found it via
aztecravemonkey: "Why, yes, that is Nick Carraway using a fedora as a boomerang weapon in a battle against a pair of giant, disembodied, bespectacled eyes that are shooting laser beams out of their pupils. Why do you ask?
Before you ask, yes, this is a hoax. There is no actual Great Gatsby NES game, let alone one produced by cultural butchering. However, it took reading a few reviews of this game to realize that it was actually produced by a literature student (or otherwise an actual fan of the book), and the sheer amount of fridge brilliance involved in the making of this game is staggering. It's made me want to reread the novel.
Or at least try to play through this game without dying. Please tell me there's a special ending if I do."
And there is! You get a little cutscene after the credits~ ♥
