GIP and a Spamtis rant

shamanicshayminBeen a while since I ranted about antis on this journal huh? HERE WE GO BABY
Somewhat controversial opinion (especially with the slow rise of fake toxic yaoi Spamtenna fans) but I wish there was more Spamtis that’s more centered on the h/c and light-hearted/sillier aspects on the relationship? Like don’t get me wrong, I like my fair share of noncon (spam mail is predatory by nature) and I love the Teacher Spamton AU (which requires Kris to be underage), but I wish there was more Spamtis that was consensual.
Not saying it has to be fangless fluff (lol I wouldn’t be into the ship otherwise) but what appeals to me most about Spamtis is how much they truly understand each other… how despite having their agency robbed from them, they’re able to communicate and be honest with each other in a way they can’t with anyone else. I find that dynamic so goddamn fascinating and the potential for angst and h/c and even a sliver of a happy ending for Spamton is through the roof.
But antis take one look at the ship and only ever see it as “pedophiliac.” Disregarding Kris’s actual age and ironically their own autonomy. (Which I remind you, they’re on their last year of high school and could very well already be 18)
You’re only allowed to view Spamtis in one way and that’s it. It robs the versatility of this ship and antis will shut down any other conversation about it and why shippers would be interested in it. Nope, Spamtis shippers are just creeps who want to molest children, nothing else. (slams fist into a garbage bin)
