My Chara grew up in a cult in which they were the scapegoat for all of society's ills. Which meant if you did a genocide route, them becoming the bringer of the apocalypse has become a self-fulfilled prophecy.
Yikes! Flowey has that awful way of instilling Paranoia Fuel in people. I'm not excusing Asriel (Flowsriel?) of any of his actions at all; hell, I make it a fine point to remind people he and Flowey are the same person (especially since fandom separating Flowey and Asriel has led to some Unfortunate Implications and double standards, but that's another rant).
