In contrast, Madoka - in Puri's example - isn't Audience Alienating because the entire point is that its audience isn't little girls! It was aired, if I recall, in prime time blocks in Japan, and was always intended to be a seinen show. I think the only people who were alienated by it were the people who didn't actually know who it was intended for.
