Wow, I can't believe I left out something as important as to what Dr. Medlock is. Whoops! He's a nutcracker hiding in the walls of the museum. The plot would make no sense at all if he was a human, haha. XD
I guess I've gotten overly cautious because I've watched one out of too many Nostalgia Critic reviews where weird fantasy shit happens and NC flips out because nothing makes sense. "Okay... how much whimsy is too much whimsy? D:"
