shamanicshayminHuh. Turns out tomorrow is my first day back at school. Lucky me. Might as well get this rant off my chest then. I know it'll sound whiny, but it's better than blowing up later.
I can see where people are coming from. I can see the hints and subtext all over the place. And yet? I feel nothing for Sonic & Knuckles as a couple.
I tried and I've tried. I strained, but I still can't say I like it purely and honestly. I mean, I liked Shadamy, didn't like it, then came back to it loving it more than ever. I sought the same for Sonuckles, But the more I tried supporting it, the more I ended up disliking it.
I know, a lot of the "cool" people like Sonuckles. Like Orin. I guess a little of my agitation comes from the clenched teeth and frowns at the mention of "Sonadow" to them, but that could be just me. Not saying I'm trying to fit in. I'm just wanted to see what was special about their ship because it might be something that could appeal to me and gosh-darn, I see a lotta pretty art for it. I even save some of it on my computer. Yet, the feeling never comes.
I personally see Sonic & Knuckles as friends. They work together, they bicker, they make up, they act like two rough-housing boys who happen to be rivals and friends at the same time. But as a ship, I think their personalities clash too much. Sonic is a free spirit--he wants to explore and have fun. Knuckles is more serious and his mind doesn't fleet from one thing to another like Sonic's--he wants to stay where he is. Knuckles could handle sitting alone for long hours under a humongoid jewel--Sonic can't stand still for .9999999999 seconds and is impatient; he wants to be surrounded by people, by friends. "But Sonic teases Knuckles all the time!" Yes, and you tease your best friends too, don't you? A lotta boys do that and play around, pull pranks on each other and such. Sonic mocks Eggman, but you don't pair them up because of that. XDDD!
"Opposites don't attract, eh? Explain Sonadow!" I want to keep this short and simple. Shadow has a need to move too--he can keep up with Sonic. Meaning if Sonic thinks he can get away laughing at Shadow, the black bastard will hit another one RIGHT back at him. Shadow may have a temper, but he's not as easily roused as Knuckles. Because Sonic & Shadow are so darn different and alike, it puts a balance.
It's like, I dunno. For Sonuckles, I feel nothing. But Sonadow, a field of fireworks.
I don't know why people say Sonuckles is rare when I see so many fans around me. *shrug* If they mean art and ficwise, yes. And I know I shouldn't complain, considering my Sonadow fandom. But I'm talking quality here--The Demon Site doesn't count. XD It's odd too, 'cause even on FF.net, there's only been Sonamy, Shadouge, Crails, and all that. But you rarely see Sonadow or slash there anymore. oO;;; Most I can expect is from LJ and the occassional quality post on DA...
