I know nothing of "F-Zero" other than what Blue and EL say, but this amuses me endlessly.
And of course, the fashionably famous injoke:
RICK, WAIT! YOU TOOK THE WRONG CLOTHES WITH YOU!
Annnnnnnnd I just reread a couple really old "Kirby" fanfics I've saved since I first learned how to use the Favorites feature on FF.net. And damn, did I ever feel exhausted. This was the first fanfic I ever read on FF.net, and it still makes me laugh to this day, after it's been nearly YEARS since I read it, but remember so well. Ahhh, Q2. One of the very first fanfiction authors I've worshipped hand and knee. If THE first. (Growlithe Trainer wowed me with the fanfic that got me into fanfic, but Q2... whoa.) Q2 even sent me an email showing me an original project of his one day--alas, I had no idea how to reply to email at the time, so I commented as a review in one of his latest fics. XD How's he doing, now? And it was through him (at his website, the Mushroom Kingdom) that I first heard of Cammi, but it wouldn't be MUCH later until she and I became friends...
Damn, Q2. If you weren't there when I arrived at FF.net, my life would've taken a completely different turn. Everything... it would've changed.
Another old "Kirby" fic, Revenge on Opacity by Blue9Tiger. This and Q2's was the only thing that existed in the "Kirby" section before it all went to hell with badfic--this was WAY before the Animé was even speculated, gamefic was all that roamed (if in small numbers). Pure Kirby*Gameness here. The author considered it lame, and true, there were a few parts that 'caused me to raise an eyebrow today, but it didn't distract me from amazing descriptions or exciting plot. Just... damn. He knew his stuff about "Kirby" games that no one else did when I reviewed again. (So I'm a sap, leave me alone) And wow, this third or so reread, it's amazing how much I can recognize now, me having played KSS and overall having much better knowledge of the Kirbyverse.
And the ending still leaves an unpleasant jab in my stomach. But I won't spoil it here.
...
Well! No one wants to hear me ramble. It's Mp3 Postin' Day!
Poe - Haunted: Okie dokies everyone, Song #1! I guess I got into this one rather late, since everyone and their mother was talking about this song, and all I had was "Center of the Sun" at the time. Well, I have it now. And now, this song reminds me HEAVILY of "Kingdom Hearts". I mean... whoa.Doesn't help I got this from a Riku FST too.
Smashing Pumpkins - Galapogos: Okay, this song makes me cry. ...Okay, maybe tears aren't falling from my face IRL. I rarely actually cry when it comes to songs. But holy hell... listening to this song makes me feel so friggin' sentimental that if I weren't such a hardened soul, I'd be bawling silently or something. It's that... touching. And so friggin' sweet. T-T
Sting - A Thousand Years: Now THIS is pretty. *___* It feels like kind of fantastic dance, the way the words go back and forth, back and forth... (A thousand years, a thousand more, a thousand times, a million doors to eternity...) I have the urge to write Originals whenever I hear this song. I get a kind of magic mysticalness, and a fantasy world starts popping up like well... galaxies in my head. :)
3 Doors Down - Kryptonite: If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman? Gods, I love that line to death. And that's precisely why I still remember this song and it's on my Winamp skin today--just take a download, I'm sure you'll recognize it. :o YAY THIS SONG (Not to mention it's listed as #1 Alphabetically on my 1300+ Winamp song list, so that's something special)
Five For Fighting - Superman: Another Superman song! Only this one's angsty--not to mention this sounded familiar when I finally downloaded it. I also remembered this song as a songfic a good friend wrote long ago involving her originals... the lyrics stayed in my head for years, and then I thought "Hey, this must be the song!". So I download and then I was all, "Wait a minute, this sounds familiar. I heard it before... I know this song!" So, there you have it. The story behind the song of an angsty hero.
Evanescence - Thoughtless: Normally, I don't listen to Korn. Nor do I intend to. (Except "Revival". But that's an Orgy song so it doesn't count) So I was rather surprised when I downloaded this song, and I thought, "Huh? What's Korn's name doing here?" After Googling, it hit me on the head and I thought, "Oh, cover! Silly me..." And apparently, it also explained a LOT: this is probably the darkest song I've heard from Evanescence since "Haunted". (And if you object, send me that song: I'm dyin' for every Evanescence song out there. XDD) But damn, the hatred and rage and and creepiness crawls down your spine like ice. Hell, I'm even curious about the Korn version itself--but I'm going to be SO amused if I find Amy Lee did a better adaptation. XDDDAnd I still need those Jay Gordon and Chester Bennington songs from the "Queen of the Damned" soundtrack: they're the sole reason I care about QotD's music at ALL. XDD
And speaking of covers...
I introduce you to both versions of Blue Monday. New Order and Orgy, respectively.
...And that's all I have to say on the matter. :o
Edit: Links fixed. :o
