fannish5:
Name your five most-loved fairy tales.1. East of the Sun, West of the MoonThis one I like a lot. X3 It's got everything; adventure, romance, a headstrong heroine, you name it! If you haven't read it, google it. Go go go!
2. Hans My HedgehogOkay, so the part where Hans rubs his quills and bloodies up a princess still disturbs me. But everything else about it is badass. A hedgehog who plays bagpipes riding on top of a giant rooster? Yes please. I've actually written the first few chapters of a novel adaptation of this fairy tale. Stay tuned! :)
3. The Steadfast Tin SoldierSomething about it touches me, I dunno. Toys coming to life, a handicapped soldier's forbidden love for a ballerina, and the two of them dancing in the stars signifies their triumph over the asshole jack-in-the-box/imp trying to burn the tin soldier to death. From how I see it, the tin heart is the soldier's enduring love/loyalty/determination and the coal diamond is the plastic life the tin soldier and ballerina left behind~ ♥
4. The Robber Bridegroom/The Juniper Tree/Fowler's FowlAll three are scary and gruesome as hell. But we've got clever heroines and the villains get PWN'd. Oh yeah! X3
5. Momotarō aka Peach Tarō (Peach Boy)Now this one, I find a lot of fun~ ♥ There was even a Super Mario adaptation too. :o
There was also this Native American version of Cinderella I like a lot. I forget what it was called, though. And the Anansi tales are fun. :o
