May. 24th, 2008 01:34 amIf you want to take a class that makes you miserable and hate humanity and feel dismal about the future, take Anthropology. Because of that class, I can never listen to John Lennon's "Imagine" the same way again.
Why? There was once a tribe who lived like this. The Aborigines of Australia, was it? They were peaceful, had no possessions or property to fight over, never hit their kids, and fell asleep together in the rainforests. This song is about them.
Then come the Europeans and their bullshit progress, chopping down the rainforests, killing the wildlife and the Aborigines. The last Aborigines to exist were homeless in the streets as drunks.
Thanks Europe. I'm so fucking ashamed to know I and the majority of us were born out of you, because you killed everyone else off. You get the Mexicans, Native Americans, etc. do all the dirty labor then complain about illegal immigrations taking OH NOES DISHWASHING JOBS ADN PESTICIDAL FARMING NOBODY ELSE WANTS TO DO!!11!11 from everyone. Nice to know I keep imagining the future of Earth: a big ball of cement pasted in toxic brown clouds and sewage where only where only blue-eyed white people and cockroaches exist. Did I mention ants AND roaches can survive nuclear warfare? Every other animal is dead, by the way.
Is it possible to be racist against yourself? I'm white and European descent and I feel like there's blood all over my hands. Like I killed someone out of hate for their culture, skin color, or beliefs in the name of "progress". We call them (the feared "Other") primitive? We're fucking barbarians.
Now I feel like crying again. Fuck.
