Read this review for an author who wrote a story I remember was rather nice. (This is for a different fic, of course) It's long, so if you dunwanna read the whole thing, I've highlighted the important bits. ^^

Now, this guy has a REALLY good point. If I recall, Limyaael said the same thing. From her Beginnings Rant:

I like writing Shadow as a proactive character. 'Cause hey, that's the impression Puri got from the games. He's a fighter, dangit! If I'm writing the Secret*Fic, and the beginning of other stuff or whatnot, if I fall into the Cliche Generic*Trap and poor Shadow's being wangsty and pathetic and "OMG what do I doooooooooo~!?", whack me repeatedly. Like whooooooooooa. 'Cause considering this is post-SA2 or post-ShtH, he'd be in better condition and less screwed than he was at the beginning, right? Heck, even if I decide to follow the SH-ShtH timeline and consider SH*Shadow not a clone, even he's got his perks. Balance, guys! Balance! Development!
