House on the Rock(s) anyone?
So um... stuff. My cousin's wedding was a success! It was fun and light-hearted, and not your traditional wedding either, according to my Mom and relatives. There was boogie-ing down the aisle and later everyone had a nice party and dinner at the recession. When it was time for the bouquet toss, Beyonce's "All the Single Ladies" was playing as the signal. :o
House on the Rock was so worth it! Mom and my brother and I had to hurry so we could have the full tour before it closed, but what I got to see was wow. I'd totally go again to catch what I've missed! Like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. :o There was a room where newspaper articles of major disasters like the Hindenburg Disaster and the sinking of the Titanic were hung on their own frames. It was kind of spooky, especially when you were surrounded by happy, lighthearted aircraft memorabilia. :o

Japanese garden! That's the first place we were introduced to upon arrival. I love these stone guardians. They're lookin' fierce and happy~

One of the many waterfalls here! If you excuse me, I'm going to snap more close-ups of the lake.

Much smaller waterfall.

Lots of koi in the ponds here~ Look at all those lilypads!

I miss having green in my life. /emo Texan. :(

And that dragon is awesome. I want one for my pond if I ever get one! XD
Section 1 begins with the Gate House/Original House, where I think Alex Jordan hung out while he was building everything. Mom wanted me to conserve my film (and I was worried about my camera prematurely running out of batteries) so unfortunately I don't have any pictures of all the stained glass and lounging rooms that were built around this single rock. Or the fireplaces. Holy snap, this guy loved fireplaces. Not that I'm complaining~ ♥ He had some huge ones in there, and all the couches and masonry and wooden drawers full of old books looked comfy. :o The rooms in House in the Rock are connected through a series of ramps and red carpet, so you go up and down a lot in spirals. Section 1 is the shortest part of the tour, but it also has this...

Welcome to the Infinity Room! This'll be your first "...Whoa" spot on House on the Rock. This place literally sticks out like a glass finger from the house, and you're as high as you can get. By that, we mean "218 feet out over the scenic valley and 156 feet above the forest's floor." Here comes my camera!

This is as far as you can go! As this rail here would tell you. "YOU CANNOT PASS."

Me and my brother! That'd be Mom holding the camera for me, nomnomnom. I'm aware how dopey I look, but eh. We got to see my sister for the wedding and she gave us early birthday presents before she flew home: the glow-in-the-dark Iron Man t-shirt for my brother, and the Sonic hoodie for me. :3

LANDSCAPE AAAAAA. There was a set of binoculars, but I didn't bother. Why spend gold tokens on that when you could be playing the music machines? More on those later...

This waterwheel is cool. I think it was the first thing I saw before I came across this...

GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE.
UH UH.
I KILL PEOPLE.
WITH GUNS. /Ben Stein rapping aka an injoke no one understands.
Here, you start getting an idea of the things Alex Jordan collects for his house. A case like this one has an entire row of antique guns. In another, a bunch of odd glass figurines and tin statues. Tea cups and china plates. Soon, I will be cursing at my camera for not knowing how to use flash properly. A lot of my photos came out too dark or else the flash would get in the way (like this one) like a Michael Bay shot. Still, I took what I could, so forgive me for being a sucker camera person. ;;

One of the few photos that came out right. I thought this display with the blue jays was pretty~

I don't remember if this came from a doll house or a diorama. Probably the latter. But I found this really odd and surreal, like something out of Kafka maybe, so I had to snap a picture of this old man in his room and... whatever state he's in. ^^;;;

This, my friends, is the Streets of Yesterday. Basically, it's a recreation of a 19th century street, so it's a neighborhood inside someone's house. INCEPTION. There's even an old*sk00l popcorn carriage down the red-cobbled streets! You've got shops and trees and a showboat with a gigantic music box/one-man-band at the end. The Streets of Yesterday has to be one of my favorite places along with the Organ Room and Carousel. :) A town inside a building? FUCK YEAH.

Statues above the Sherrif's Office. Good afternoon, people!

And the flash gets in the way. :/ There's totally not a preserved hand on the desk! Nuh uh!

Luckily, it spared the firehouse. I took two so I could get a closeup of the dalmation~

Sweeney Todd instinct compelled me to take a photograph of the barber shop. :o I wanted shots of the chair itself, but the flash kept blocking it entirely, which pissed me off. But yes, there's a red velvet chair complete with a washing towel (and maybe a bib) on it.

Toy Shop! Novel senses tingling! Unfortunately, Alex Jordan keeps a lot of porcelain dolls as opposed to rag dolls or stuffed animals or teddy bears, so the lack of variety and the amount of uncanny valley was disappointing. :(

Raggedy Ann & Andy aside, this is how I typically imagine dolls to be instead of Barbies/porcelain/baby dolls and whatnot. Am I the only one who thinks this way? :( I don't like the stuffy-lookin', breakable scary dolls very much. Though I'm not sure how I feel about this particular one. On one hand, her eyes are kind of creepy, but they also remind me of the almond-eyed player-character girls in Animal Crossing. Is my novel numbing me to what's uncanny valley and what isn't? Augh.

Liquor bottles! I wonder if they're empty or not. :o

This is the electric belt, which I think men of the age took to boost their abs or something. There was even a paper ad of a mustachioed guy wearing it and looking proud of himself, but when I tried taking pictures of it, the flash kept getting in the way of the print and it was such a huge disappointment. D: I didn't have time to read what the electric belt did, but I did get a decent shot of the item itself, so here's proof of its existence!
Edit: And after spending an hour organizing my pictures, nearly my entire post got cut off. D: dhgkjsghkjdsghkjdgh I have more House on the Rock stuff though, nom. Apparently I'm lacking sleep because I don't know how the hell I suddenly lost half of everything. D:
