Part 2 of a Meme! <3
Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.
1. Earthbound - fhdjslghdjkghj GUYS EVERYONE PLAY THIS YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. The Mother series has everything I love about video games; I like virtually everyone in the cast, the music is catchy and gorgeous, is ridiculous fun and makes me laugh as much it makes me cry and want to hide in my bed.
albireo mentioned I was a new generation Earthbound fan, and I can't tell what that means. XD Except from maybe this comic. Wait, is it a bad thing? D: Maybe I was a bit of the top, but a little bit of the bottom since I saw it coming, but maybe I am a little sentimental and... augh. XD But it's true. I was playing video games since the NES days, but never got an SNES until we got it on eBay. Earthbound was a Christmas present and it sat for a while as I was catching up on other games such as Kirby Super Star (and Super Mario RPG, which I squeegled over for a long time) A few years ago, I was suffering hard times and I felt my life reset itself after a close brush with death. I wanted a new start, so I figured starting a new RPG, Earthbound, expecting a pleasant gaming experience if nothing else. Little did I know what love and obsession had for me in store...
2. Shadow - Shadow Shadow Shadow Shadow~ ♥ My favorite character ever, oh god. XD Shadow is a silly black hedgie that inspired me back into the Sonic series long ago, and has come up with memorable catch-phrases immortalized into jokes such as "I'm the coolest!". "Grumpy softie" is a term derived from folks like Shadow, who makes a pompous grumble while petting Chao on the head in the same breath. It's very easy to tease Shadow. "fl00f" is coined from none other than Shadow's puffy chest fluff, which we're 100% sure he holds all his pride and manliness in. X3
3. Sweeney Todd: Oh Sweeney~ ♥ This is my all-time favorite musical and I have many exciting stories about it from childhood that makes me wish I still live in Chattanooga. XD The movie was a giant factor that revived my love since it first came out, and I'm still fhjaksdghjksghe over it because of the gorgeous visuals and strawberry jam. X3 Puri can never imagine Sweeney without a trauma streak in his hair now; I'd be lying through my teeth if I said I didn't fangirl Johnny Depp, because I hgdjasghskjghrke I fucking do. *_______________________* (Me: *listening to Epiphany* Oh my gosh! Shadow the Hedgehog is singing! *_______*) I try not to be an overly elitist theater snob when it comes to different versions though. XDDD;;; Out of the Sweenies, my favorite interpretation would be George Hearn with Johnny Depp second. There's something about Hearn that absolutely floors me everytime. *_______________* My favorite cast would be from Sweeney in Concert mainly 'cause everybody did a badass job and are such a joy to listen to them sing. :o
4. Sarah McLachlan: Sarah McLachlan has been in my earliest memories as far back as the beginning of middle school. "I Will Remember You" is the first song I heard, and also what I performed at the end of the school year. 6th grade, the piano player messed up, I kept all the right notes, etc. I didn't think much about Sarah until later, when one of my favorite artists on DA at the time drew a lot of gorgeous works based on McLachlan's music; in particular, one of my all-time favorite Sonadow pictures, which was inspired by "Mercy". It touched me so much I was on the hunt for for Sarah McLachlan songs, and upon the rediscovery, I was hooked ever since. Possession has since become my favorite song by hers (which I've also sang solo for a billion times), but my favorite album would be Solace, as it's the perfect mix of soothing joy and haunting sorrow... dark and light and the celebration of both sides.
5. Mewtwo: Me seeing his official art for the first time: "Ewwwwwwwwww he's ugly! D:" I thought his frown was a tooth at first. XD I didn't deny he was the world's strongest Pokemon though, and his appearance haunted me. All the same I was fascinated by him, particularly what the Cinnabar Lab diaries said about him. So when the movie came out, I was as hyper as a young Pokefan could get. ("I want a Pikablu card!" Ah, those were the days. XD) Heck, I still remember getting the Mewtwo promo when we were admitted to our seats. Even though the dub of the movie reduced him to a shallow monster, I still felt sorry for Mewtwo and related to him being ostracized because of his birth, and I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed when Ash died. That, my friends, is the basis for a classic. ;D Later I discovered the Origin of Mewtwo and was pounded in the gut, and ordered an ancient VHS copy of a subbed version of Mewtwo Strikes Back! Needless to say, I was humongously outraged. XD How dare they do this to Mewtwo! To Pokemon! I was on a seething 4KIDS hate long before they dubbed Shaman King and One Piece. ;D
The rest is history. ♥
