You know how you can transfer Pokemon as far back as 3rd Gen (R/S/E/FR/LG)? This guy has an Omastar that's been with him since the beginning of time.

He recognizes that while this Omastar isn't the best Pokemon—or even the best Omastar—it doesn't matter. It's his Omastar.

i've got a houndoom from emerald and a jolteon from firered that i still use to this day. it's not all that uncommon!

There's a few favorites I've kept moving up with me as well, particularly fully trained battle-ready Pokemon (move-tutored Seismic Toss Blissey) or ones I use for False Swipe.
