So... that election, huh? Can't say I'm surprised, but I sure am disappointed.

Yet another "I'm still alive" post. And I definitely plan to stay alive IRL, so no worries on that front. My doggies and ratties need me, after all. My icons need updating and I should probably poke on my writing journal too, just... blegh. I'm working on LISA fic though.

I have a Bluesky account! I've had one for a while, but I've been ignoring it until the recent wave of Twitter censorship. (Elon Musk flags posts with the word "cis" for "Hate Speech" 'cause he's a fucking baby) And this time, I retweet NSFW content so minors shouldn't follow it. But everyone else can find me as GigaPuri, same as my Twitter. :D

I really really really hope conservatives don't nuke AO3 as part of their plans for Project 2025. Unlikely but I have every reason to be paranoid. I could back up my work on Dreamwidth, but uploading takes forever for little reward, ugggggggggh.

Worth remembering that AO3 was founded with the express purpose of Not Letting Our Work Get Nuked By Conservatives Ever Again.

Given that DW was founded around the same time, by people from the same fandom environment, in response to the same conservative-pushed purge...I think DW is better-managed than AO3 in a lot of ways, but when it comes to "platform will a legal stand against being made to delete your work," I don't think AO3 is any less safe than DW.

(Do save local backups of your work, though -- that's always a good idea.)

For sure. I want to think AO3 potentially being banned is people being paranoid (especially since I was around at Strikethrough which prompted AO3's birth) but with how fleeting the Internet is nowadays, including the Internet Archive being doxxed, you can never be too careful. D:
