Mother 1 | EarthBound Zero | EarthBound Beginnings
I love this game so much and I think it's criminal it hasn't received a remake yet. Still, it got an official release after all these years later, so it amounts to something, right? I'm going to be using the older translation names (ex. Loid, Podunk, Mt. Itoi) since that's what I'm most familiar with, but feel free to use whichever names you like.
Ninten x Loid
Those two are adorable! I love the idea of Ninten being protective of Loid and Loid developing a small crush on him as they go on their journey. How much does Ninten miss Loid after Teddy replaces him in the party? Is the reason he turned down Ana's confession (which I really appreciate is something you can do, especially since other NES games are like "But Thou Must!") is because he had feelings for Loid instead? Does Loid attempt to show Ninten sciency goodies and things go out of hand, like in the school science room?
Teddy x Loid
Fucking hell, I love the thought of those two developing a mutual respect from each other. After having a negative first meeting together (Teddy dismissing Loid as weak, Loid being afraid and intimidated by Teddy), they teach each other what strength actually is and end up having an unexpected bond. I have a headcanon that Teddy actually got a hold of Loid through the phone saying his friends wanted him to come back, which was how Loid was able to find and save the gang on Mt. Itoi when they were attacked by the robot. Maybe some years later, Loid shows Teddy how much this weakling has grown...
Teddy x Ninten
Darnit, I still remember a long-lost fanart of those two and it won't leave my head. Ninten is the first person to learn Teddy isn't as mean and ruthless as he looks; what made him come to that conclusion while fighting him? I imagine during their time together, Ninten gave Teddy something worth fighting for beyond avenging his parents. Does Ninten come visit Teddy often at the Live House post-game?
Mother 2: Gyiyg no Gyakushuu | EarthBound
Earthbound gives me a lot of warm and fuzzy feelings, and it's given me a gaming experience I'll never forget. ;; Weird enemies, a lot of laughs, memorable characters, horrific nightmare fuel... and of course, how utterly heartwarming the whole journey is. ;;
Ness x Picky Minch
I always felt so sorry for Picky and all he goes through, what with losing his brother to Giygas and all. Yet despite everything, he keeps his chin up and finds a lot of inspiration in Ness. Post-game h/c maybe?
Ness x Frank Fly
This ship could be the spiritual predecessor to Teddy/Ninten, in a way. One of the things I liked was that you could talk to Frank after battling him and he could heal your party. How does he hold up in Onett while Ness is gone? Is Ness an honorary Shark member? Do they get a chance to hang out more often post-game, like at Frank's new job as a burger guy?
Jeff Andonuts x Tony
All those years later and I can't get over how utterly sweet and adorable those two are. Tony's feelings are just so pure, and I always felt Jeff treasured that sort of companionship ("That Tony sure has a heart of gold..." he tells you if you read Tony's letter to him at the end of the game) I don't mind fluff of those two just... exploring around and falling in love and aaaaaaaaa.
Jeff Andonuts x Ness
Those two I imagine having clashing personalities and getting into fights a lot (Ness being outgoing and talkative, while Jeff is more introverted and quiet), but they're both stubborn and once they embrace each other's differences, they become an unstoppable team of friends. How do they work together at Fourside? Hell, what sort of shenanigans happen with those two while they're there...?
Ness x Poo
Meanwhile, Ness and Poo are opposites in a more subtle and less explosive way. Ness is curious about what life is like as a prince and what Mu training is, and Poo finds Ness's happy-go-lucky personality and optimism infectious. Do they train each other? Does it blossom into love?
Jeff Andonuts x Ness x Poo
Apply the two dynamics above, and bingo! You got the boys all together. :) I want to see them grow up and become happy in a world free of Giygas. ;; While they’ve no doubt been through some terrifying shit that’ll likely stay with them in their later years (see: willing to sacrifice themselves as robots knowing the risk they could never come back and see their friends and family again, Mother. Fucking. Giygas.), they discovered many incredible things and had rich experiences throughout travelling the world that they wouldn’t give up for anything, and if anyone knows this journey best, the one filled with smiles and tears… So please tell me how all of them keep in touch with each other, and being there for each other throughout their lives: Ness getting help with his guilt regarding Pokey, the boys helping Paula deal with the stress from the paparazzi and her memories of the Happy Happy cult, Jeff having a cheerleader throughout college and letting him vent when things between him and Dr. Andonuts aren’t going well, and Poo being assured that his ancestors will be proud of him and he’ll do a great job when it’s time for him to be king. ;;
Undertale
This game came out in late 2015 and I'm still obsessed with it. Figures. It's just that powerful, poignant, funny, dark, heartbreaking, and empowering of a game. And since one of its biggest influences was the Mother series, it's catering to my tastes right there. :P
As Undertale is a game heavily reliant on speculation and interpretation (especially the human characters), you don’t have to take my headcanons/views of the characters at face value. I just thought I’d illustrate them to show you how I’d like to see them portrayed. :3
Important: Please use they/them pronouns for Frisk, Chara, Monster Kid, and Napstablook! I'd also humongously appreciate it if you don't refer to Frisk, Asriel, and Chara as siblings in or out of the narrative, especially Chara & Asriel. Thanks!
Papyrus x Asriel
Flowey and Papyrus's friendship is fascinating to me. Not only does Papyrus create the Flowey Fan Club (in which he's the only member), Flowey admits Papyrus took him the longest to get bored of. But I rarely see fics where Papyrus and Asriel interact post-True Pacifist, which is a shame because those two are a goldmine of potential due to their "friendship" while Asriel was still Flowey. Maybe Papyrus feels Flowey was the one person who listens to him and takes him seriously (before he got to befriend Frisk and Undyne)? I always thought it would be sweet if Asriel confessed everything he had done to him as Flowey and Papyrus forgave him, or if Papyrus was one of the biggest driving factors to Flowey having a soul again. I can also see him being a cheerleader for Asriel as he adjusts to his original body, as well as helping him deal with the weird moodswings that come from being able to feel love and compassion again. :o
I don't want anything too "dark" in their relationship. Acknowledgment of Flowey's deeds is fine as long as it's not too severe (canon-typical manipulation and murders are fine, but nothing from my dislikes), but please don't have post-True Pacifist!Flowsriel be cruel or abusive (and I mean Evil Sadistic Asshole levels, not "I'm a person and I can be mean and fuck up sometimes" levels). I want to see him heal and grow as a person, not be a reenactment of Flowey at his worst. Besides, I can't stand Papyrus being tortured. D: Feel free to get around the age gap by making Asriel come back as an adult when he regains his soul. I bet that’d be quite a surprise for the main cast, seeing another Boss Monster aside from Toriel and Asgore. :o
Smut option: When Asriel gets his body back, he’s never able to be good at fire magic. But he does retain his plant powers from his time as Flowey, meaning he can still summon vines...
Burgerpants x Mettaton
I find this ship humorous and fun. :) I think while Mettaton teases him and can get vicious at times (see: making an entire CD full of songs about how much Burgerpants sucks at his job), he does genuinely care about him in his own way and stands up for his employee if anyone is being nasty or abusive to him. What would it be like for Burgerpants in the King Mettaton timelines? Would he be trapped as his permanent servant? How would Burgerpants react if Mettaton was killed on one of the Neutral Routes? Would he be in denial? Hell, what if in some twist of fate, Burgerpants has to comfort his boss when he’s having a bad day? Feel free to play with the Boss/Employee power dynamics and humiliation aspects of this ship (especially the canon detail from the patch update about Mettaton dressing Burgerpants up in various outfits for his own amusement) ("NEVER let hot people think you care. That's how they GET you."Implying Burgerpants still thinks his boss is attractive. :P), as long as it doesn't get TOO dark. :)
Asgore x Gaster
Yet another pairing fandom has completely won me over. I love the idea of Gaster being close to Asgore, and offering him comfort and solace post-Asriel & Chara’s deaths and Toriel’s banishment. I imagine him being extremely motivated to relieve Asgore of the guilt and burden that comes from collecting human souls and working himself past his limits to find a more ethical way to break past the barrier… only to fall into the Core and be wiped out of existence, oops. <.<;;; Does Asgore secretly harbor feelings for the Head Scientist that he is torn about confessing in case his ex-wife comes back and fix things between them? Does Gaster try to contact Asgore across timelines, via the flowers in his garden or his dreams? In a post-True Pacifist scenario, does Gaster come back (whether through his own devices or being saved) and reunite with him? Does Asgore still not remember and Gaster tries to jog his memories? Hell, is this the period where the two of them fall in love? The character bashing rule applies here: please don’t demonize Toriel or have her want to get back with Asgore! If Asgore and Gaster get together, I want her to be happy and move on.
Revolutionary Girl Utena
I can't believe this series is at its 20th anniversary. ;; Let's see, we got complex characters, gorgeous animation(when it's not in Dorito Mode, haha. XD), badass music, PSYCHOLOGICAL SYMBOLISM GALORE, a fuck-you to gender roles and the idea of girls-loving-girls as "childish" standing up for yourself and your beliefs even when the entire world is against who you are, shredding toxic masculinity to itty bitty little pieces, deconstructing the most harmful aspects of fairy-tales (or at least the harmful aspects the patriarchy added, since a lot of fairy-tales actually have their roots as "old wives tales" shared among women. :o), and the defiance of destiny and established norms to build your own identity and your own roads. Hell yes. The TV series is my preferred canon, but I don't mind having bits and pieces of manga/movie/game lore sprinkled here and there.
Touga x Saionji
Those two are fucking trash and I love them. I loved their interactions throughout the series and the fact I ended up caring about two garbage characters more than I expected. Poor Saionji struggling to catch up with Touga while at the same time is the best person to call him out on his bullshit, and Touga, well... being Touga (and whatever the hell he's defining "friendship" as this time), and that even for those two, there's hope for a healthier future at the end of the series. Exploration of them from the "After the Revolution" manga would be interesting and fun. Oh, and Nanami sassing both of them out? Yes plz A++
Mikage x Mamiya
I was kind of disappointed we didn't get as much insight of them as we did of Mikage and Tokiko. On top of that, we hardly got to see what the real Mamiya was like; was Anthy making things up as she went along and Mikage was oblivious to the difference (since he had an idolized vision of Mamiya in his head or something), or was she creepily accurate? Exploration of that would be super interesting. I'll also admit that I'm a total sucker for Manga!Mikage/Mamiya, so there's that too. XD Expansions, missing scenes, all that good stuff.
Pokemon
Yep, one of my oldest fandoms, still going strong after twenty years! Pokemon Sun & Moon is so bright and hopeful, like the rays of sunshine over the Alola region. :)
Morty x Eusine x Falkner
While Eusine was on his search for Suicune (which I headcanon started when he turned ten, making him 20 during Crystal/HG/SS), I can see Morty starting to see Falkner a lot and falling for him. He tells him about Eusine, eventually introduces Eusine to Falkner, and everyone agrees an OT3 can work out. That said, I also see Eusine and Falkner not liking each other too much at first (Eusine finding Falkner way too serious and rigid, Falkner not trusting Eusine to not dump Morty for some pretty purple-maned diamond dog) and competing for Morty’s affections, in and out of bed. Nothing too serious or angst-worthy--hell, the two of them could grow to see they aren't as bad as they thought the other was, though that drive to see Who Could Please Morty Better would always be there. Hell, Morty might be amused or turned on by this competition too. <.<;;;
Morty x Eusine
Speaking of those two, how did they meet? How did they become friends? Was it their mutual love of legendary Pokemon and folklore? Due to their ties to their respective Pokemon (Morty to Ho-Oh, Eusine to Suicune), I think they understand each other in regards to trying to reach something that is supposedly unobtainable. Maybe it isn't so much the Pokemon as it is something else connected to their past? (Eusine associating Suicune with memories of his grandfather, Morty and the expectations placed on him after the ancient events of the Burned Tower) Both their miniarcs in HG/SS seemed to involve letting go of their respective Legendary and finding a new dream (ex. Eusine congratulating the player after they catch or defeat Suicune, and Morty's dialogue when you get his number at Bellchime Trail: "The legendary Pokemon did not choose me... But that does not mean that I have lost out on my future. I will continue my training until I discover a new future for me.") Do they decide to look for that new future together? Or, Eugene Fitzherbert-style, discover that each other IS part of their new dream. Hell, I'm just going to quote from Tangled because it sums up how I see Morty and Eusine's relationship:
"I've been looking out of a window for eighteen years, dreaming about what I might feel like when those lights rise in the sky. What if it's not everything I dreamed it would be?"
"It will be."
"And what if it is? What do I do then?"
"Well, that's the good part I guess. You get to go find a new dream."
Lucian x Aaron
Purple and green sure look great together, huh? I love the thought of Aaron being energetic and hanging around Lucian a lot. Maybe Lucian has some good books to share? What can they teach each other about their respective bug types? Optional bonus points if Aaron has a Ribombee--it's one of my all-time favorite Pokemon, so him having one would tickle me. :3
Riley x Roark
""Have you met Byron? The Leader of Canalave Gym? He's asked me to become a Gym Leader, but there's his son Roark to consider." Annnnnnd that one line alone has me shipping them. Figures. I love the thought of them being friends and training together. Maybe they go digging around underground for goodies? I have so much nostalgia for the Underground mini-game in D/P/Pt. ;;
N x Silver
One is concerned about kindness for all Pokemon, the other had to learn how to love. But they have more similarities than not; they both had tyrannical fathers that placed a lot of expectations upon them that they found they didn't want to do. What if they come across each other in their travels someday? How do they take each other's backstories?
Sir Aaron x Lucario
And the one pairing that sticks out like a sore thumb, since it's anime-exclusive. But I can't help it--after watching the Lucario movie, I'm utterly convinced that they are together and that the whole movie is their love story. ;; What were their early years like before the war? What's it like exploring the after life? Do they realize their true feelings there?Will there be chocolate play?

I love this game so much and I think it's criminal it hasn't received a remake yet. Still, it got an official release after all these years later, so it amounts to something, right? I'm going to be using the older translation names (ex. Loid, Podunk, Mt. Itoi) since that's what I'm most familiar with, but feel free to use whichever names you like.
Ninten x Loid
Those two are adorable! I love the idea of Ninten being protective of Loid and Loid developing a small crush on him as they go on their journey. How much does Ninten miss Loid after Teddy replaces him in the party? Is the reason he turned down Ana's confession (which I really appreciate is something you can do, especially since other NES games are like "But Thou Must!") is because he had feelings for Loid instead? Does Loid attempt to show Ninten sciency goodies and things go out of hand, like in the school science room?
Teddy x Loid
Fucking hell, I love the thought of those two developing a mutual respect from each other. After having a negative first meeting together (Teddy dismissing Loid as weak, Loid being afraid and intimidated by Teddy), they teach each other what strength actually is and end up having an unexpected bond. I have a headcanon that Teddy actually got a hold of Loid through the phone saying his friends wanted him to come back, which was how Loid was able to find and save the gang on Mt. Itoi when they were attacked by the robot. Maybe some years later, Loid shows Teddy how much this weakling has grown...
Teddy x Ninten
Darnit, I still remember a long-lost fanart of those two and it won't leave my head. Ninten is the first person to learn Teddy isn't as mean and ruthless as he looks; what made him come to that conclusion while fighting him? I imagine during their time together, Ninten gave Teddy something worth fighting for beyond avenging his parents. Does Ninten come visit Teddy often at the Live House post-game?

Earthbound gives me a lot of warm and fuzzy feelings, and it's given me a gaming experience I'll never forget. ;; Weird enemies, a lot of laughs, memorable characters, horrific nightmare fuel... and of course, how utterly heartwarming the whole journey is. ;;

I always felt so sorry for Picky and all he goes through, what with losing his brother to Giygas and all. Yet despite everything, he keeps his chin up and finds a lot of inspiration in Ness. Post-game h/c maybe?
Ness x Frank Fly
This ship could be the spiritual predecessor to Teddy/Ninten, in a way. One of the things I liked was that you could talk to Frank after battling him and he could heal your party. How does he hold up in Onett while Ness is gone? Is Ness an honorary Shark member? Do they get a chance to hang out more often post-game, like at Frank's new job as a burger guy?
Jeff Andonuts x Tony
All those years later and I can't get over how utterly sweet and adorable those two are. Tony's feelings are just so pure, and I always felt Jeff treasured that sort of companionship ("That Tony sure has a heart of gold..." he tells you if you read Tony's letter to him at the end of the game) I don't mind fluff of those two just... exploring around and falling in love and aaaaaaaaa.

Those two I imagine having clashing personalities and getting into fights a lot (Ness being outgoing and talkative, while Jeff is more introverted and quiet), but they're both stubborn and once they embrace each other's differences, they become an unstoppable team of friends. How do they work together at Fourside? Hell, what sort of shenanigans happen with those two while they're there...?
Ness x Poo
Meanwhile, Ness and Poo are opposites in a more subtle and less explosive way. Ness is curious about what life is like as a prince and what Mu training is, and Poo finds Ness's happy-go-lucky personality and optimism infectious. Do they train each other? Does it blossom into love?

Giygas.), they discovered many incredible things and had rich experiences throughout travelling the world that they wouldn’t give up for anything, and if anyone knows this journey best, the one filled with smiles and tears… So please tell me how all of them keep in touch with each other, and being there for each other throughout their lives: Ness getting help with his guilt regarding Pokey, the boys helping Paula deal with the stress from the paparazzi and her memories of the Happy Happy cult, Jeff having a cheerleader throughout college and letting him vent when things between him and Dr. Andonuts aren’t going well, and Poo being assured that his ancestors will be proud of him and he’ll do a great job when it’s time for him to be king. ;;
Undertale
This game came out in late 2015 and I'm still obsessed with it. Figures. It's just that powerful, poignant, funny, dark, heartbreaking, and empowering of a game. And since one of its biggest influences was the Mother series, it's catering to my tastes right there. :P
As Undertale is a game heavily reliant on speculation and interpretation (especially the human characters), you don’t have to take my headcanons/views of the characters at face value. I just thought I’d illustrate them to show you how I’d like to see them portrayed. :3

Papyrus x Asriel
Flowey and Papyrus's friendship is fascinating to me. Not only does Papyrus create the Flowey Fan Club (in which he's the only member), Flowey admits Papyrus took him the longest to get bored of. But I rarely see fics where Papyrus and Asriel interact post-True Pacifist, which is a shame because those two are a goldmine of potential due to their "friendship" while Asriel was still Flowey. Maybe Papyrus feels Flowey was the one person who listens to him and takes him seriously (before he got to befriend Frisk and Undyne)? I always thought it would be sweet if Asriel confessed everything he had done to him as Flowey and Papyrus forgave him, or if Papyrus was one of the biggest driving factors to Flowey having a soul again. I can also see him being a cheerleader for Asriel as he adjusts to his original body, as well as helping him deal with the weird moodswings that come from being able to feel love and compassion again. :o
I don't want anything too "dark" in their relationship. Acknowledgment of Flowey's deeds is fine as long as it's not too severe (canon-typical manipulation and murders are fine, but nothing from my dislikes), but please don't have post-True Pacifist!Flowsriel be cruel or abusive (and I mean Evil Sadistic Asshole levels, not "I'm a person and I can be mean and fuck up sometimes" levels). I want to see him heal and grow as a person, not be a reenactment of Flowey at his worst. Besides, I can't stand Papyrus being tortured. D: Feel free to get around the age gap by making Asriel come back as an adult when he regains his soul. I bet that’d be quite a surprise for the main cast, seeing another Boss Monster aside from Toriel and Asgore. :o
Smut option: When Asriel gets his body back, he’s never able to be good at fire magic. But he does retain his plant powers from his time as Flowey, meaning he can still summon vines...
Burgerpants x Mettaton
I find this ship humorous and fun. :) I think while Mettaton teases him and can get vicious at times (see: making an entire CD full of songs about how much Burgerpants sucks at his job), he does genuinely care about him in his own way and stands up for his employee if anyone is being nasty or abusive to him. What would it be like for Burgerpants in the King Mettaton timelines? Would he be trapped as his permanent servant? How would Burgerpants react if Mettaton was killed on one of the Neutral Routes? Would he be in denial? Hell, what if in some twist of fate, Burgerpants has to comfort his boss when he’s having a bad day? Feel free to play with the Boss/Employee power dynamics and humiliation aspects of this ship (especially the canon detail from the patch update about Mettaton dressing Burgerpants up in various outfits for his own amusement) ("NEVER let hot people think you care. That's how they GET you."Implying Burgerpants still thinks his boss is attractive. :P), as long as it doesn't get TOO dark. :)
Asgore x Gaster
Yet another pairing fandom has completely won me over. I love the idea of Gaster being close to Asgore, and offering him comfort and solace post-Asriel & Chara’s deaths and Toriel’s banishment. I imagine him being extremely motivated to relieve Asgore of the guilt and burden that comes from collecting human souls and working himself past his limits to find a more ethical way to break past the barrier… only to fall into the Core and be wiped out of existence, oops. <.<;;; Does Asgore secretly harbor feelings for the Head Scientist that he is torn about confessing in case his ex-wife comes back and fix things between them? Does Gaster try to contact Asgore across timelines, via the flowers in his garden or his dreams? In a post-True Pacifist scenario, does Gaster come back (whether through his own devices or being saved) and reunite with him? Does Asgore still not remember and Gaster tries to jog his memories? Hell, is this the period where the two of them fall in love? The character bashing rule applies here: please don’t demonize Toriel or have her want to get back with Asgore! If Asgore and Gaster get together, I want her to be happy and move on.

Touga x Saionji
Those two are fucking trash and I love them. I loved their interactions throughout the series and the fact I ended up caring about two garbage characters more than I expected. Poor Saionji struggling to catch up with Touga while at the same time is the best person to call him out on his bullshit, and Touga, well... being Touga (and whatever the hell he's defining "friendship" as this time), and that even for those two, there's hope for a healthier future at the end of the series. Exploration of them from the "After the Revolution" manga would be interesting and fun. Oh, and Nanami sassing both of them out? Yes plz A++
Mikage x Mamiya
I was kind of disappointed we didn't get as much insight of them as we did of Mikage and Tokiko. On top of that, we hardly got to see what the real Mamiya was like; was Anthy making things up as she went along and Mikage was oblivious to the difference (since he had an idolized vision of Mamiya in his head or something), or was she creepily accurate? Exploration of that would be super interesting. I'll also admit that I'm a total sucker for Manga!Mikage/Mamiya, so there's that too. XD Expansions, missing scenes, all that good stuff.
Pokemon
Yep, one of my oldest fandoms, still going strong after twenty years! Pokemon Sun & Moon is so bright and hopeful, like the rays of sunshine over the Alola region. :)
Morty x Eusine x Falkner
While Eusine was on his search for Suicune (which I headcanon started when he turned ten, making him 20 during Crystal/HG/SS), I can see Morty starting to see Falkner a lot and falling for him. He tells him about Eusine, eventually introduces Eusine to Falkner, and everyone agrees an OT3 can work out. That said, I also see Eusine and Falkner not liking each other too much at first (Eusine finding Falkner way too serious and rigid, Falkner not trusting Eusine to not dump Morty for some pretty purple-maned diamond dog) and competing for Morty’s affections, in and out of bed. Nothing too serious or angst-worthy--hell, the two of them could grow to see they aren't as bad as they thought the other was, though that drive to see Who Could Please Morty Better would always be there. Hell, Morty might be amused or turned on by this competition too. <.<;;;
Morty x Eusine
Speaking of those two, how did they meet? How did they become friends? Was it their mutual love of legendary Pokemon and folklore? Due to their ties to their respective Pokemon (Morty to Ho-Oh, Eusine to Suicune), I think they understand each other in regards to trying to reach something that is supposedly unobtainable. Maybe it isn't so much the Pokemon as it is something else connected to their past? (Eusine associating Suicune with memories of his grandfather, Morty and the expectations placed on him after the ancient events of the Burned Tower) Both their miniarcs in HG/SS seemed to involve letting go of their respective Legendary and finding a new dream (ex. Eusine congratulating the player after they catch or defeat Suicune, and Morty's dialogue when you get his number at Bellchime Trail: "The legendary Pokemon did not choose me... But that does not mean that I have lost out on my future. I will continue my training until I discover a new future for me.") Do they decide to look for that new future together? Or, Eugene Fitzherbert-style, discover that each other IS part of their new dream. Hell, I'm just going to quote from Tangled because it sums up how I see Morty and Eusine's relationship:
"I've been looking out of a window for eighteen years, dreaming about what I might feel like when those lights rise in the sky. What if it's not everything I dreamed it would be?"
"It will be."
"And what if it is? What do I do then?"
"Well, that's the good part I guess. You get to go find a new dream."
Lucian x Aaron
Purple and green sure look great together, huh? I love the thought of Aaron being energetic and hanging around Lucian a lot. Maybe Lucian has some good books to share? What can they teach each other about their respective bug types? Optional bonus points if Aaron has a Ribombee--it's one of my all-time favorite Pokemon, so him having one would tickle me. :3

""Have you met Byron? The Leader of Canalave Gym? He's asked me to become a Gym Leader, but there's his son Roark to consider." Annnnnnd that one line alone has me shipping them. Figures. One is concerned about kindness for all Pokemon, the other had to learn how to love. But they have more similarities than not; they both had tyrannical fathers that placed a lot of expectations upon them that they found they didn't want to do. What if they come across each other in their travels someday? How do they take each other's backstories?

And the one pairing that sticks out like a sore thumb, since it's anime-exclusive. But I can't help it--after watching the Lucario movie, I'm utterly convinced that they are together and that the whole movie is their love story. ;; What were their early years like before the war? What's it like exploring the after life? Do they realize their true feelings there?
