-Take four books off your bookshelf.
-Write the first sentence
-Write the last sentence on page fifty
-Write the second sentence on page one hundred
-Write the next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty
-Write the final sentence of the book
-Let your friends guess what book it is.
Book 1:
- On those cloudy days, Robert Neville was never sure when sunset came, and sometimes they were in the streets before he could get back.
- Now he sat in the living room, listening to Mozart's Jupiter Symphony and wondering how he was to begin, where he was to begin his investigation.
- It was dangerous to hope.
- His big hands moved roughly through her hair, stroking and feeling the silky strands.
- He wouldn't need that line anymore.
Book 2:
- It's a funny thing about mothers and fathers.
- "Go and get yourself a pad and a pencil and let's see how clever you are."
- "Who wants to go to university for heaven's sake!"
- The children sat there hypnotised.
- Miss Honey was still hugging the tiny girl in her arms and neither of them said a word as they stood there watching the big black car tearing rough the corner at the end of the road and disappearing for ever into the distance.
Book 3:
- There was once a boy named Milo who didn't know what to do with himself--not just sometimes, but always.
- "Perhaps--p-e-r-h-a-p-s--you are under the misapprehension--m-i-s-a-p-p-r-e-h-e-n-s-i-o-n--that I am dangerous," he said, turning a smart loop to the left.
- "I'm sure he'll be a great help," cried Milo as they drove across the square.
- "Now do come into the parlor."
- "There's just so much to do right here."
Book 4:
- A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct.
- "There are legends here about the Bene Gesserit."
- "And yesterday's attempt could've been a clever sham."
- Jessica gestured to one of the straight-backed chairs, said: "Bring that chair and sit facing me."
- "While we, Chani, we who carry the name of concubine--history will call us wives."
