I wonder if these guys realize that people in the Pokemon fandom actually tried to make a point like that in the past. Like, ten some years ago there was a fanfic entitled "Pokemon Revolution," which from my limited understanding was so bad it was believed by many to be a trollfic.

And come on, it's not like any kid would actually conflate real-life animals with pokemon. There's no way they would play a pokemon game and automatically assume that was a green light to go ordering stray dogs and cats to fight against imaginary enemies, and there's no reason to think pokemon think of fighting the same way RL animals do.
